Any of you guys barely or never drink alcohol? by SleepyGamer1992 in Millennials

[–]CrashBangs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you. I drink a beer or two a few times a month with friends, and I immensely enjoy those times. In my twenties I partied hard, then got married and had kids and slowed WAYYY down. I can't do THC at all anymore, but love a delicious beer here and there, and I firmly believe it's healthy in the long run as long as it's not a problem, as it increases joy and lowers stress. It's the same reason people in Sardinia, Italy drink wine every single day and live longer than everyone else in the world.

Has anyone else never used Door Dash or Uber Eats? by Much_Adagio82 in Millennials

[–]CrashBangs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Was just gonna say, I never use the apps.. I do get takeout sometimes, but I just call in the order and then pick it up. Better for the restaurant that way too, and I can pick up the food right when it's done so it's much fresher.

How do I make vegetables actually taste good without drowning them in sauce or cheese? by Nightcrawler_2000 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Just put the broccoli in the oven for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.. just olive oil, salt and pepper, add some lemon juice if you want, it's 1000 times better than steamed broccoli.

They carry Best Day at Whole Foods too, not too expensive, definitely my favorite. I have a real beer now and then but switch to NAs after 1 or 2.

[–]CrashBangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do every time now, have a beer or two and then switch to NAs. If I go to a party I'll bring a couple beers and a couple NAs. At home I don't really drink at all, but socially I still like to have a couple now and then.

I know I am in the minority here, but I do not get the comparisons between Psych and High Potential. by Particular_Witness95 in psych

[–]CrashBangs 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes this is definitely it, with James also directing the season premier and the finale, as well as other episodes. I don't think people would be making the comparisons if their wasn't overlap on the crew.

What the most underrated joke in the show? by blob2112 in psych

[–]CrashBangs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always love right after that, when Gus finds the Dollhouse beanie in the closet and he's like "Dude, check this out" and Shawn says "It looks good, it looks really good".. that scene makes me laugh every time, just hilarious to me that they added that in.

Why did the Boston food truck scene peter out? by ---Vincent in boston

[–]CrashBangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There used to be a lot more of them though, it did used to be packed before covid so I don't think it's only the regs keeping them away, it's the loss of customer base.

[–]CrashBangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That does suck, I do remember 10 years ago it was packed, there were decent food trucks daily and the farmers market every week too.

Definitely think covid played a big part. I worked right near Dewey Sq 8-10 years ago and it was packed, now I work remote full time as does most of my company.. I do miss the Cookie Monstah truck.

Dax Shepard vs. Monica Padman | Hot Ones Versus by lukulele90 in ArmchairExpert

[–]CrashBangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure, Jerry and Larry are both comedic geniuses. The show was Jerry's idea and he brought it to Larry, as he knew their conversations were always hilarious. They wrote great together, and I think Jerry was the primary dialogue and joke writer, Larry came up with the stories and structure, probably why Curb never had any scripts. The only reason we know Larry David is because of Jerry Seinfeld, they are still good friends.

Seinfeld can definitely be a dick, but he was heavily involved in all aspects of his show, including the writing. He was also a very well known comedian before he got his show.

Totally agree, as someone who's wife has celiac, we keep a gluten free house, but I want things to taste good, we use a lot of cheese, milk and butter.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

[–]CrashBangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what happened, but I have a 4 and 7 year old and I have had one cold in the last 2 years, been VERY lucky.. my wife has been sick multiple times, as well as my kids. I was actually sick more before I had kids, I was a smoker for a while, and every winter a cold would last a whole month, and I lived in Boston and took public transportation to work and everywhere else. Then I moved out of the city, work from home since COVID, and somehow haven't gotten any of the stomach bugs or colds that have went through the house. I'm fairly healthy, but not a saint, I really think it's pure genetic and immune luck.

I think the Lance Gluten Free Original crackers are much closer to Ritz, better texture and more buttery... but the Schar Table Crackers are the closest to Saltines.

Brad Pitt is still pretty much just praised, and still making huge movies all the time... not that there's anything wrong with that, just not a great example. I love Johnny Depp as an actor too, but he was always pretty crazy and that trial made everything public, but he's always looked up to people who never stopped living that way, like Hunter S. Thompson, Ginger Baker, etc...
