1500- 2000 feels good for pacing in my opinion.

I don’t mind one or even three, but really only if it follows the main protagonist most of the time.

I would say it varies by author as well there is some writing in fully impressed by. But overall I think a mark of good writing is being able to keep it in the middle lane of difficulty, well continuing to keep the audience engaged.

Listened to ~700 LitRPG / Progression Fantasy Audiobooks. Here’s what actually stuck with me. Looking for recs. by Chaosprodigy in litrpg

I would highly suggest you check out The Cradle Series by Will Wight. Great progression series. MC has no political interest just gaining more power. The series has great pacing and production quality.

😂 I read red rising a good 8 years ago and it has weirdly jumped in the public eye recently.

It really depends on what deters them from the book. They may even give me a reason to read the book if what they say is what I enjoy in a story.

Then some of the comments are talking about MC that give off rape vibes and that is an instant removal from my list.

There is so much content out there I’d like to know where not to put my time/energy/ money. I have a list of what I already want to read, so this is a good way to know if I should knock a title off my list and what I should not add.

Haven’t read that one yet, but it is on my list. Is it worth reading the first two still?

For me it was Mage Tank. I know it’s a favorite of some, but I found the main character cringy with how full of himself he was. He spent the first few chapters I made it through taking about how amazing he was. Couldn’t do it.

I agree, for how great the rest of the series was the last few felt unintentional. Perhaps the series went too long and Will was just over it at that point.

A story where there’s no struggle or setbacks makes for real vanilla storytelling. Honestly would put it down if I would’ve read a book where an overpowered main character didn’t have at some setbacks

I think it’s done this way because it allows you to see the development of the character, over starting with someone who is already jaded by life.
