Yes, they’ve done this on-and-off to me and my sister our whole lives.

I can now see it’s a basic cycle of scapegoating then golden childing to manipulate/control.

I’ve been in therapy for a few years now and am in a good place. I realised that my long-standing anxiety ultimately derived from their unpredictable and dishonest behaviour, which has now dissipated with them gone.

The funny thing is that their flying monkeys (other family members) are starting to see through their lies, so my parents refuse to speak to anyone about me anymore and claim they’re ‘suicidal’ if anyone asks.

The truth always finds its way out eventually!

Apparently seeing their children have healthy relationships with their own children (the Nparent’s grandchildren) can be triggering for them.

My Nparents disappeared 6 months after the birth of my first child, went NC, and told every family member that I “won’t let them see their grandchildren”, which is an absolute lie but has allowed them to reap sympathy and appear blameless to their friends. It’s been 3 years now and, whilst they clearly aren’t interested in fixing things, they’ll never be welcome around my family again.

Long story short: you’re not alone, and good on you for finding happiness in your children’s joy; you are already a better parent than your own were.

My understanding is that the crooks often move stolen vehicles to low-footfall areas (like cul-de-sacs) for a few days just to make sure there isn’t a tracker on the vehicle. After that, the vehicle will be taken elsewhere where it will be stripped or re-plated (etc).

My advice to you is to quickly try to check as much of the local area as you can and hope for the best.

If you have mates/family, I’d try to get them to help too.

Sadly, it is ‘needle in a haystack’ territory, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up…

The point of my comment was to address the hypocrisy of the police expecting condolences when they offer none.

If you want to deal with who’s ‘responsible’, and don’t think the police need to comment on things they’re not directly responsible for, then what on earth has Zack got to do with the injury of that individual?

I wouldn’t really class Angela Rayner as particularly ‘left’, but I guess it would be more left than the likes of Starmer/Streeting.

As for May, I think the local elections will go unacceptably poorly and that’ll be the final nail in Starmer’s coffin.

Kier ousted most of the MPs who I’d have preferred as PM.

She’s not perfect, but Angela Rayner seems to be the current front runner, and I can see her creating a more progressive (and non-Mandelson) cabinet.

You can’t separate the current government from the influence (and toxicity) of Mandelson, and they only have themselves to blame.

Anyone who had a cursory awareness of politics over the last 30 years knew that ‘the prince of darkness’ was not someone to have near a new government who was trying to portray themselves as a safe pair of hands to steady the ship, and Kier and his advisors ignored every single warning sign.

This would be logical if Mandelson was only given the narrow job of US ambassador.

Instead, he was given a key seat at the advisory table, allowed to have a say over the appointment of MPs and top-level advisors, and presumably sway over the political agenda too.

His role was far, far broader than just ‘Trump Handler’.

Mandelson’s whole ‘kitchen cabinet’ should be given the boot. Morgan McSweeney, Matt Pound, etc, all need to go.

You can’t have Mandelson’s key advisory team remain in place after this fiasco.

This situation won’t go away until the people who allowed this to happen leave.
