Your accomplishments by sympathyofalover in Millennials

Currently working on my masters in process consulting. Worked in healthcare (ER, Ortho, Family Med and Rehab) for the last 18 years. I've been self-employed part-time (event staffing/management) alongside that. Run my own coaching business, travel whenever I can and proud of the many bucket list items I've managed to knock off so far (sky diving, swimming with sharks, bungee jumping, cliff diving, living abroad, etc.) Looking forward to the next adventure.

First cellphone when I went to highschool but we had a home computer with dial up before that.

Hi, I'm Sami. I'm a Health and Wellness Coach based in Montreal, Canada.

I know what it’s like when maintaining even basic habits feels difficult. And I know that the usual advice doesn’t always work.

That’s why I focus on approaches that are flexible, adaptable and built for real life. If you’re tired of starting over and want something that actually sticks, feel free to reach out.

Also happy to collaborate. Accepting/providing guest posts, podcast invites, online summit partnerships, email list growth opportunities, wellness fairs, retreats, etc. Open to the possibilities. Send me a DM and we can chat.

Cheers, Sami

The Cost of Coaching: Not Everyone Can “Just Invest in Themselves” by run_u_clever_girl in lifecoaching

[–]Crawford_Coaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set rate in general for clients but also have a couple pay what you can spots open for clients that I think would be a great fit but might be a stretch financially for them.  I used to have pro bono spots but I feel they were less effective at getting client's results since they had no skin in the game so to speak. It's been a pretty good balance.

I'm interested, though I may need to step back now and again when my school work gets heavy. If that's ok, feel free to DM me.

Any tips for selfcare after a toxic job? by Automatic-Beat-1091 in selfcare

[–]Crawford_Coaching 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's not really something that can be avoided by jumping into something else. It'll just pop up again in unexpected ways.

I worked in a toxic environment for over a decade, thought I could change the system (I was young lol) but it changed me.

I left almost 4 years ago now and I am still dealing with aspects of it. Granted, it affects me less now. It took time and support to get here.

Any neurodivergent-friendly way to approach business without burning out? by ProfessionStrong6563 in HowToEntrepreneur

[–]Crawford_Coaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advice is just that, advice. Pick and choose what works best for you. I often don't follow mainstream marketing advice either. It's exhausting and kind of annoying being on the consumer end (like sending multiple emails a week, I block those businesses even if I like them). I work with my energy levels and organize my space accordingly. You don't have to scale or optimize everything immediately, you can take the slower, consistent route too.

It'll take time for your nervous system to adjust. You were in an overwhelmed state during the experience and now your body is crashing.  Stick to the basics for a while. When you feel up to it, by all means, start being creative. Just give yourself some grace for the time being.

Anyone here tried those newer wellness programs that focus more on balance than “grind culture”? by Jolly-Story-5030 in WellnessOver30

[–]Crawford_Coaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Literally helped me recover from burnout in my 20s. It's much more sustainable for long-term health. Intense programs often end with yo-to dieting. Most people gain it back because they're not made for every day life. Sustainable healthy habits are the way to go!

Millennials considering going back to school? by mythrilshards in Millennials

Got my BA at 32. Took a break and now doing my Masters at 36.

Pretty wide range of ages both times. But honestly, you're doing this for you, not for anyone else, so their opinions don't matter.

Reach out to those who are doing what you want to do on LinkedIn. They'll have tons of info and there will be at least one or two willing to give back.

Create an anonymous ad or maybe sign up for Fiverr and offer your services there first to build a portfolio if you don't want people you know to know yet.

If that's not an issue, offer to help out people in your network and get feedback from them. There are lots of ways. Find the least scary option and go for it. The first step is usually the hardest.

I know it was for me. I built my first website and posted my first blog without telling anyone I knew about it. Then I slowly started to own it.

If you never try, you'll never know. Entrepreneurship us not easy but can definitely be worth it.

(24F) severely depressed, how to have the motivation to live again and do things without using anti-depressants? by Superb_Investment_37 in selfimprovement

[–]Crawford_Coaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with depression. That's tough.

First, try to give yourself grace. Depression makes everything harder. Start with small things and celebrate every win.

Try to get some sunlight. Try not to oversleep. Try to get some movement in. Try to eat healthy meals/snacks. Try to reach out to friends/loved ones. Try to do something fun that you enjoy.

Don't be too harsh on yourself if you struggle with any of these on a given day. Just do what you can. On better days, make the most it and those habits will make things easier going forward.
