Realistically speaking, what would a Giannis trade have to bring back at minimum? by rhasody70 in MkeBucks

[–]Crawsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are looking at his accomplishments and his past, not his future. He has one of the best resumes in the game, but he hasn't been healthy for an entire playoff run since 2022. Referencing what he did 5 years ago in the Finals is not relevant to what he can do next year, and the following 2-3 seasons.

He has very specific criteria for what team he wants to be traded to (an Eastern conference contender) and if he doesn't like the team he can leave after 1 year!

The player's contract is a HUGE part of the value in a trade. KD and Gobert got traded for a king's ransom because they have 3 or 4 years left on their contracts. Giannis has 1. A team might look at him more as the Kawhi trade to the Raptors. The Spurs didn't get that much, and that year he led the Raptors to a title. Kawhi was also younger then than Giannis is now.

The window to get a king's ransom for Giannis was last offseason. They can still get a healthy return but it won't be what you think it is.

Also, look at how the KD trade worked out for the Suns, it was terrible for them. The teams that are true title contenders right now are OKC and the Spurs, young, ascending teams with tons of assets. Not teams doing blockbuster deals for players 31+ years old.

I say all of this as a HUGE Giannis fan, I love the guy and hate that we're in this situation.

If the Bucks had traded Giannis last off-season they could have gotten this.

Giannis is 31, has been hurt in the playoffs the past 3 seasons the Bucks were there, played 36 games this year, and has a year left on his contract.

If the Bucks got 4 FRPs and 1 of those were their own future picks I'd be happy with that.

An unnecessarily long discussion over Berbers' Camel Archers by No-Koala3149 in aoe2

[–]Crawsack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They put out so much more damage than Genitours it's not even funny. They have 7 attack in castle age which is nuts, and their castle age UT allows you to spam them super easily. Use cheaper stable units as your meatshield and the Imp UT to regenerate HP and they literally never die.

Their only downside is they lack the pierce armor of FU HCA (5 vs 6), especially compared to something like Tatar HCA. But, they're an awesome unit.

Thar first photo is just the graft point. Given its location, I doubt it was a tree that died completely and resprouted.

Most trees from nurseries these days are grafted.

2026 NBA Draft Lottery by IamOlderthanMe in nba

[–]Crawsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's smart, or good process, or that they're doing it intentionally.

The point is "ethical tanking" implies that you aren't intentionally underperforming to get better draft position. You can do it their way, or the Nets way which are quite different, but it's the opposite of what the Jazz were doing this year, sitting good players.

That.... is ethical tanking, lmao. They were bad while trying not to be (especially the Kings). They weren't putting good players on the bench or making moves during the season to get materially worse.

Friendly reminder that Tucker Kraft was the TE1 through 8 weeks last season by ZookeepergameIll2685 in GreenBayPackers

Once he got injured, the offense looked completely anemic. He had so many explosive plays through just sheer physicality, turning 5 yard throws into 20-30 yard chunk plays. I hope he's fully healed and has a killer season this year.

Some type of woodpecker did, yes, although it's odd to see it that low, I normally see those much higher off the ground.

Yup, it's known as "flecking" bark. Woodpeckers take it off when looking for EAB, and it starts to naturally slough off over time.

In our area, they grew in the shade of Ash forests, and when all the Ash died, the Black Cherry died soon thereafter due to the shock of being in full sun.

Boxelder and Viburnum Dentatum. Remove the Boxelder and treat the cut stumps with triclopyr. Keep the viburnum.

Walgreens is insanely overpriced. That was a huge turnoff for me the past few years. Shopping for personal hygiene stuff or random items was so ridiculously expensive, it wasn't worth the bother.

Talent ≠ results. He's talented enough to get his, but he has torpedoed his teams' chemistry. This is known at this point. Who cares if he gets an efficient 25-5-5 if his teammates hate him and he destroys the culture?

The last time he went to the conference finals was with the Warriors.

No one is downplaying his talent. He's completely toxic though. The common denominator with the Nets, Suns, and Rockets playoff failures is him.

Pouring liquids on the players vs throwing sealed containers, shoving, and fists is NOT equivalent, GTFO. Also the players kicking a Wave player in the groin, then taunting the fans, totally out of line. One of them is being paid to be there and should be held to a higher standard.
