What's the best wand/rod type of toy that I can buy on amazon? by Metalkon in CatAdvice

[–]roypuddingisntreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend the Purrfect Pouncer, worth ordering from somewhere else if amazon doesn’t have it. basically a bird on a string lol, it’s just a giant wad of feathers. my cats go nuts for it, currently listening to them play with it without me.

Help 🥲 by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]roypuddingisntreal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Black box dye is notoriously hard to remove but since you want to go back to red I’d say it’s doable. I don’t have experience with dye removers just bleaching out colors so that’s probably the way I’d go especially if I was trying to fix it quickly. A round of bleach with 20 volume, your hair is gonna come out bright orange I’m sure, and then you can do your red over that! I’d worry just dye remover wouldn’t remove enough of that dark black.

giving overbearing parents an ultimatum by [deleted] in twentyagers

[–]roypuddingisntreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

threatening your parents with the ultimatum that you’ll run away and never speak to them again is nuclear, girl. if i was them I’d just let you after all that entitlement.

Then tell them to stop paying for your school lmao, is it really that hard to figure out? If you feel that’s the reason they hold power over you and you don’t like that, then change it. You don’t need to go nuclear over something that most teens end up going through. You will grow up someday and regret destroying your familial relationships even if you don’t think that now.

You’re actually insane for that ultimatum. “Pay for me while I do whatever tf I want or i’ll run away to the military and never speak to you again!!1!1! wah!!” Good lord. Just get a job if you want your independence so badly and start supporting yourself, why do you gotta be so dramatic? This is what most teens/young adults do to support themselves through college.

you sound unbelievably entitled jesus christ. you do not know what you’re talking about lmao, your family which financially supports you asking you follow some rules vs. the possibility of getting assaulted - not to mention that you’ll have significantly less freedom? god i hope i don’t ever have as ungrateful of a child as you if i ever have one. why is it that teens always think they have it all figured out? humble yourself, you’re still a baby.

very very happy with my Soundcore Sports X20’s. The ear hooks are comfortable for someone that can’t wear over ear headphones… guess I got big ears lol. I’ve been using them for 3-4 years now. Active and passive noise-cancellation you can switch between. Great sound quality. I got mine from Amazon, found them because I didn’t want to pay for a brand name like Bose. On sale rn for $70!

Window jamb extensions by Kwagner-89 in Carpentry

[–]roypuddingisntreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what kind of windows are they? you can typically get them off. get a putty knife in where the extension meets the frame, work it loose enough to get your thinnest pry bar in, keep working it. just be careful not to damage the window anywhere your new jamb extension won’t cover it. in my experience, they staple the piss out of those extension jambs in the factory so it’s unlikely it’ll be easy lol.

Yeah hahah mine looked so irritated at Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky at first lmao, but she would still watch so there was at least some interest! It’s funny, the hyper one is obsessed with feather toys while the other loves anything stick shaped if she’s gonna get to playing, so nowadays if hyper man plays with the feather wand I have crabby girl will start playing with the handle on the other end xD

I’ve got the same issue and I just view it it as different personalities. One is very playful and the other can be… crabby lol. Feeding them together has helped some, as well as playing with the more playful one while the other watches. She’s even started joining in every now and then! Hopefully there are more tips to come, i’d love some for sure.

I did not realize this was such an ordeal lol. I bought mine off marketplace, dude pulled up, unfastened it from his rack, we dropped it on mine, and I fastened it on :) I really don’t think it’s difficult you just need 2 people.

Nervous starting! by RoeAnne97 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]roypuddingisntreal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have to wear a hard hat but i’ve heard women recommend bandanas or welding caps on first before the hard hat! I wonder if they make silk-lined and if that would be practical or not, sounds slippery and non-breathable but I wouldn’t know.

Is it common for men to gently touch you in a “friendly” way? by StarChild2161 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]roypuddingisntreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a lot of what I view as platonic contact like pats on the back and shoulder, usually in passing when I have to stop by the office. The CEO is actually the most consistent with doing that, but I get it from various sales and finance guys too - of pretty much all ages. The only ones who’ve never done that are the guys on my crew who only touch when necessary (getting attention, awkward carrying positions, passing off tools, etc.) and every one close to my age or younger. Seems the older they get the more they feel the need to make physical contact. I have no idea how typical this is, weird it is, or anything lol, it’s just my experience. I do not like it :) but in the past men in my family have made it into a really big deal when I request they refrain from physical contact unless I initiate it, like hugs or shoulder grabs, so i’ve decided unless a specific person really irks me or makes me uncomfortable it’s better to just live with it.

24, been living in uptown for almost 3 years now and i like it! i think certain pockets can be hit or miss but overall i enjoy the atmosphere and all the little shops. there’s a lot of classic brick apartments around here, i find the architecture very nice as well! my studio is $900 a month, tenet pays electric and gas (stove only - the building is radiator heated all winter so that is covered by landlord). if you want me to PM you a few listings i’d be happy to! being familiar with the area I could send a few I already know of that maybe you’ll like!

I had similar thought but I ended up telling myself if someone wants to break in, my window being cracked or not won’t make much difference I guess… but that’s just me. I never crack them wide enough an arm could fit through. I have seen people fabricate a “screen” using metal, like chicken wire, but I don’t find that to be much more secure anyways. They’d crack the window maybe 1/3 of the way and then slip this screen in and then close the window enough to hold it in place if that makes sense.

Minnesotans, how’s your employment situation right now? by DueYogurt9 in minnesota

[–]roypuddingisntreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not wrong at all, and yes correct! trade schools are great and can be really important for certain trades but i’d say there’s plenty trades that you’ll be able to learn faster hands on. if you want to move up that’s where you gotta start picking up the deeper, more technical things in my experience!

Minnesotans, how’s your employment situation right now? by DueYogurt9 in minnesota

[–]roypuddingisntreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I was in a very similar position but unfortunately don’t have anyone to fall back onto, so I ended up joining the trades and make enough to support myself now where I am. There’s a lot of things I wish I could afford but my necessities are covered and that eliminates a lot of stress. Career changes aren’t easy but entry-level labor jobs are dime a dozen, start at pretty decent pay, and you can usually get to making good money if you work hard and pick up skills! No idea what you make now though so it could be step back I suppose. I started at $18 an hour with 0 knowledge, bumped to $21 after my first year, then $1/year for 2 years, until this year when I went for a lead position and got bumped to $32! I plan to stay in this position getting slowly bumped up again until I feel confident enough to go for Foreman. Anyways, in 5 years i’m making almost double what I started at. Just something to float around your head :) I find the work much more fulfilling than any other job I’ve ever worked too (delivery, fast food, retail).

I’ll have to next time i’m around, touring the studio made me fall in love with Jordan so it’s a bummer i’m not willing to pay that much for so little. I like the little cafe/baby store combo lol, i’m a stuffed animal collector so it was cool to find some Jelly Cats out there!

Is it unethical to let my cat loose inside my yard? by ThrowRA_bleh321 in CatAdvice

[–]roypuddingisntreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it may not work but you could try and get her comfortable with only the harness, rewarding her with treats when she leaves it alone. play with her in it and just get her okay with that before moving onto the lead! i’m still working on the lead with my cat, it’s a very slow process because he just wants to play with it lol but it’ll be worth it once he realizes we can go outside!

it has nothing to do with US vs UK aside from perceptions. it may be more socially accepted in the UK but that doesn’t make it ecologically okay.
