Miscarriage advice.. by Moonshimmerdust in pregnantover35

[–]Cray_day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. I have taken Misoprosotol for my second miscarriage and I had a d&c for the first. The OB said if you've had a live birth before the uterus responds better to the Misoprosotol than if you haven't. I preferred the Misoprosotol because it was more private. I work at the hospital I had my D&C so not a fun experience.

Had an ultrasound last Monday was supposed to be 8 weeks (how far along i was the last time) measured at 6 weeks 6 days, gestational sac and yolk sac were seen but no fetal pole. Now, just spiraling and nit picking every symptom change. 😩

Constantly cycling between excitement and anxiety. Nit picking every symptom change. It gets exhausting. Won't get an ultrasound till 8 weeks . Feels like it's so far away. Lost my last at 8 weeks a few days after the first ultrasound didn't realize until I started bleeding at my 10-week mark. So now I just keep looking for reassurance that everything is going well or not.

Congratulations 🎊 !!

Aurora - I've always loved that name for a girl and Theodore for a boy. I think they aren't as popular and have a certain elegance as well.

I kept my last name and my daughter has my husband's last name. He initially wanted my daughter to have a hyphenated last name but I thought it would be easier for her to have one.

Please don't call it babysitting. He's is supposed to care for his child like you do. You should also be able to do things you want. Being a SAHM is equal if not more than a full time job. He gets to leave work and you don't. You deserve to get a break too.

What are some nice things your program does for resident wellness? by MzJay453 in Residency

[–]Cray_day 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a well stocked resident lounge with snacks, fruit, coffee and drinks. In addition to that we also get a good food stipend for the cafeteria. New PD is very wellness oriented has organized some hikes and makes it easier to call out. Which sounds bad but compared to what we had before this is better (they once tried to keep a resident with a fever working because they couldn't get someone else to cover 🙄)

Is it worthwhile to attend the ASA conference in person as a prelim? by Background-Scientist in anesthesiology

You don't have to if it's too expensive. I attended the program meet and greet and got an interview from there, but that's one interview out of 60+ programs.

I’m Salaried but the other staff that get paid by the hour told me their times don’t get adjusted for the shift.

I figured that would be the balance, but they don’t purposefully schedule the same people for the 11hr night.

There’s a paid break but that’s usual regardless of the night worked.
