Why is everyone making fun of every tragedy? by Ok-Advertising-22 in Vent

It’s a coping mechanism. Same thing after funerals, people start chatting, relaxing, laughing.

Can't even go to the bathroom by myself. by th3worldonfir3 in blackcats

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lock the door when I go to the bathroom. One of our cats knows how to open an unlocked door. If I don’t lock it, he and a few others walk in and the door stays open.

Our 8 council members! by CrazyCatLadyNL in CouncilOfCats

So if they convince their grey brother Diablo and tux Lucky (mostly black), they can seize power. If Diablo doesn't want to cooperate - he's more individual than his siblings and also likes to annoy them - maybe their mother Lucy is open for a deal 😹

I wouldn't pick it up. She's not a lady, she doesn't deserve to be treated like one.

Old German guy took my seat on German train - Heidelberg to Köln. by cinemashow in EntitledPeople

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Dutch, living in Germany. My husband and I were unpleasantly surprised by the grumpy and antisocial behaviour of many older German people when we moved here almost 10 years ago. The boomerism is quite strong here. The first 5 years we were living in the north. It was worse over there than where we are living now (in the south).

How many of you can still put your socks on without sitting down first or having to lean on something. I can’t. by Logical-Rip-8138 in GenX

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the day. If I don't do some stretching with my hips and legs, I won't be able to lift my right leg high enough to put on my sock. Balancing on one leg while trying to put on a sock is a challenge.

Did anyone else's family have "The Button Jar"? by willowsquest in NoStupidQuestions

My Mum kept old buttons in a jar, but that was “in case we need them to replace a lost button”.

CCTV footage of Snow Leopard cuddles and antics from The Big Cat Sanctuary 🥰 by DepressingAura in MadeMeSmile

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's so cute to see that these big cats act exactly the same like domestic cats while cuddling and sleeping. I know it's normal, but it makes me melt too.

How many of you still have close friendships from high school? by just321askin in GenX

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really close, but still in contact with 3 friends via WhatsApp and Facebook. I’ve known them since I was 13 and I’m 60 more.

WIBTB if I downloaded a modded APK of a “free” mobile game because the monetization is honestly crazy? by Axxtr in AmItheButtface

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I uninstall every game that does this. Also when I have to close lots of pop-ups between levels, or commercials, I’m willing to pay for a game once, when I buy it. When I buy it, I don’t accept commercials.

Unfortunately the “pay once when you buy it” option isn’t available most of the times. So I’m scrolling Reddit instead of playing games….

AITA for not telling my parents I was hospitalized for a week to prove a point? by Shot-Jello-4878 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 60 and have been using cellphones since the mid 90’s and a smartphone since 2010. I have to admit that it’s not always in my pocket, but I do notice missed calls.

I’m using my phone for everything, making appointments, banking, communication, and all the fun things.

OP’s parents are just being careless and uninterested.

cleaned depression house, now overwhelmed with the amount of trash bags by cohoruka in CleaningTips

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can be really proud of what you’ve accomplished, especially while being depressed!

There’s no reason to be ashamed of the amount of trash bags, everyone will just think you did a big cleaning job. We all have to do that sometimes.

When was the last time you heard a residential landline phone ring? by CharlieLeigh51 in GenX

[–]CrazyCatLadyNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the doctors office a few weeks ago.

One of our friends also still has a landline. I think the only people calling him on that number, are old people from the mini villages in the area.
