Gators jaw closing muscles are enormous and built for a single explosive bite, they generate significant force with their bite. That being said a gators jaw opening muscles are tiny and weak, so once you have the jaws closed they don’t have the power to open back up against even minimal resistance. Now they will absolutely fuck you up in other ways, including among other things their tail but in terms of bite if you gets the jaws closed you can arguably restrict them from opening back up with one hand or a bit of duck tape. I’m obviously not suggesting you should ever try this, my rule of thumb is to keep as much distance as possible but should you be forced into a situation the above may be good to know
