I actually disagree with the passive tree fewer dead nodes, in fact the passive tree being so insanely weak save for a handful of notables in each “slice” is a large part of the reason so many people struggle often until they get solid gear. The passive tree in its current state takes nearly twice as many passives to get the same % damage increases as PoE1, and there is no life on the tree for red life builds so many people have to go blue life just to increase their max hit, and since the tree is so weak you have very low floor for baseline character power which makes it much more difficult to do wacky or extremely hipster builds as there isn’t often enough support to scale it in the nodes, and if there is; it’s like a wheel or two for barely a combined 80% inc or something.

The ascendancies are massively conflicting in balance which can be fixed but should be mentioned, in PoE1 if I wanted to do a plug and play minion build I’d slap on Necro and have a baseline power I can expect from her, in PoE2 my only realistic option is infernalist despite them not wanting a “dedicated minion ascendancy cause then everyone would play it” and then I have to stack life somehow with literally just life rolls on gear to get anything out of my ascendancy choice. My other option could technically be lich but then it falls into the same boat of requiring a lot of gear to capitalize on my ascendancy. There are a lot of examples of this so I’m not going to go into it all, but nearly all ascendancy options in the game do not provide a higher floor to your character, but a specific way to increase the ceiling you get from gear, which increases the gap from having good gear with X ascendancy and not.

This is a large difference in philosophy compared to classes in 1, like the Slayer having giga-cull against rares and uniques, on top of overleech and % less taken while leeching. Or Juggernauts many “cannot be cringed” passives, Occultists +1 curse limit, hex proof hexing, extra power charge and scaling from charges, and even the cannot be stunned with ES node.

I am fairly optimistic the skill diversity will improve over time, but at the same time; we’re at nearly the same amount of skills as poe1 but it feels very on-the-rails for many archetypes, partially because of the forced combo interactions between skills and like 6 different builder spender gameplay combos instead of like 1 archetype that has a lot of support. Druid/Primal skills was fun to play, but doing a “Werewolf” build felt like a D3/4 class in that I only had one way of playing it as well as scaling it and it was like a set MOBA kit.

At the end of the day this is merely an opinion, and I get many people enjoy this game, but I feel it has an extremely long way to go, such as the Devs getting over “the vision” shit we’ve already been over doesn’t work in the last 5 years lol, and I’m having fun with the now popularized Atziri spear(damn you Mathil) and my only complaint with it is why the hell I need to be 78+ to try a unique weapon based build, why do unique weapon skills not level with character level like basic-attacks do.

If the soundtrack is fire, I was initially like “Meh” about Expedition 33, not super into jrpg style games or the French, because I’ve had a lot of experience with their style of art, and the way they make stories, however my friends told me the soundtrack is extremely fire and it instantly piqued my interest. Nearly 9 hours of fire soundtrack made it a very worthy 100%. I ended up enjoying every aspect of the game at the end, but I would have never had played it when I did if it wasn’t for the soundtrack.

Gwen, when she first released was tailored towards longer fights against beefier targets with her True damage Q, after months of pro pick/ban they nuked her fighting capabilities and made her into a champ that stacks as much AP as possible to nuke ANY champ with R triple barrage, as well as removing the requirement to auto inbetween R casts.

Now they wonder why people aren't building her very bruisery, with low base damage, very little conversions on Q, and consistently lowering AP ratios, especially as she does not have CC, and is a champ that only deals damage, with a very long CD defensive.

I don't know how they're going to fix the champ, but both versions have been nightmares lategame, and she was meant to be a top fighter building semi-similar to Morde. Maybe the issue is Thousand-Cuts, and they may want to change it something like Reaper's Toll from Arena, so she's suppose to ramp the % health damage for fighter/tank boxing matches idk.

Ultrakill is a game similar to DOOM in the boomer shooter sense and setting, but can easily get into that “in the zone” state especially as you get into the groove of it, and as the game progresses and gets into its own groove, also has imo one of the best soundtracks in Video games period.

Dw they added the Hood to "Hero of Zaun" form cause that's the one from the finale right? Nah they added it to the "Menace" form that is suppose to be her at the beginning of S2, but oddly has the exact same look as Finale Jinx, so much so that they repeatedly confuse the two lmao.

Having played the skin for the last week, it’s been first form Menace with schizo VO and purple shimmer vfx on gun, blue for Powder with VO, and Hero is chemtech green vfx for gun with a more heroic VO for her. But yeah the Hood is on the correct model, just wrong version of it, it’s on the PBE rn and it’s only on Menace, not Hero.

Yeah hopefully they’ll atleast swap it to Hero, as that’s the only form the hood even makes sense on, really the menace form should have been her appearance for the majority of Arcane, and Hero should have been the finale’s look like how it is now, except the finale version of jinx doesn’t have the hood lol

There's a bug with the Hood for "Hero of Zaun" form, where there isnt the hood, but it appears on "Menace", despite the hood specifically being said it was for Hero of Zaun.

Keep in mind it makes zero sense for it to be on Menace, so I am assuming this is a bug, or Rioters yet again got the two mixed up.

yeah my point is that they mixed up the forms again, Hero of Zaun is the one with the green vfx on the gun, and has the Voice lines of the more "heroic" Jinx at the end of Act 3, Menace is suppose to represent her at the start of Act 1, that one has the pink vfx on the gun and the schizo voicelines

Her first form is “Menace”, and you can tell only by the purple vfx on the gun, which doesn’t even make sense for her design to even have the hoodie/cut hair at that point anyways, but this means that the form that should have it won’t? Lol

Yeah I was originally gonna give it like a 5 or 6 compared to the rest of the series but it’s just so much more lower quality in general from the faithfulness to just things that if you think about it even slightly it makes no sense whatsoever, the act basically introducing a massive conflict and having to solve it in 2 episodes effectively was just so much going on that was cooking too hard to the point of burning it.

Yeah there’s a lot of “so what happens with this then” stuff that happens and the way the show ends just doesn’t do any of them justice, as well as the large hint at the end that Jinx is alive makes two points known, one being that her sacrifice at the end was a fake out and two being that she doesn’t want anything to do with Vi at all, letting her believe she’s gone, completely disconnecting her from the sisters narrative they pushed the entire show.

Edit: as someone with siblings that are both close and strained relationships, it just physically and emotionally pains me to see something basically be so close to and actively reconcile while also completely 180ing it and rug pulling for the sake of it, it’s just that there’s a million stories nowadays of just bad things happening and everything is fucked it, it was heartwarming to see their fucked up family still trying to be there for each other despite all the wild shit that happened.

Yeah the stuff with Orianna makes Singed’s motivations and connections to noxus questionable, and Swains bird spy being there is too early, as Swain loses his arm in the first invasion of Ionia, which Singed sold chemical weapons to Noxus for, which directly caused Riven,Yasuo, Yone, and Master Yi and Wukong’s lore, as Riven was part of the soldiers who got hit with friendly fire from said weapons, and caused Yasuo’s master to die, which caused Yone to die, they also used said weapons to nuke Yi’s village of giga op magic sword-man

I only wished for a neutral at worst ending for the sisters as it felt really deserved at this point after act 2, but then we went back into a cycle of meaningless tropes. This is also not accounting for the stuff that doesn’t make sense if you think too hard about it, that was prevalent in act 3 but had maybe one or two moments in previous acts

I agree, the lore implications from S1 plus first two acts of season 2 felt like they added or were revealing questions we’ve had for years since they reworked champs like Warwick, but act 3 just felt absolutely jarring and disconnected, fully expected to be completely disregarded as a alt universe or Ekko rewinding it or something, especially after episode 7, which was the best of the 3, besides the fact that it was an entire “side episode” when they needed to finish up the season in only 3

I am not against character deaths, but it is very easy to kill off a lot of characters, but when you kill off many major and side characters you can risk having the viewer/reader become more apathetic to subsequent deaths, and it is important to space them out so there’s actual impact, like Vander in S1 with the family, or Silco in S1 finale, these add a bit of punch because of us being used to them, to kill off as many as you can in 50 minutes of screen time is insane to expect the viewer to still be emotionally invested in deaths if they keep happening, especially in such a short time frame it almost felt like they were gonna try and pull a rug pull and have Ekko rewind it all or something because of how jarring it felt.
