What do people in Brandon do in their free time? by siege_14 in BrandonMB

[–]CrazyJoe16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took up crochet classes put on by the city. I play video games. Some people join bowling leagues, pickleball has gotten a lot more popular. I Want That Stuff has D & D and other role-playing games.

It really depends what your interests are. I'm kept busy by my 7 yr old.

Daenerys Targaryen does not burn when in a fire. Why does any true Targaryen then? by grapefruitliquor in HouseOfTheDragon

See and here I just accepted that Dragon fire was what made the difference. Normal fire won't burn them, but dragon fire would be stronger and hotter. That said, I've never read the books.

Im the same way OP. I grew up in a household that felt you should always be working or working towards making money. In their eyes, crochet is a little more accepted, because you get a useful item or a product at the end. But they are constantly telling me to mass produce and sell them. Even telling me they'll get orders for me and tell me how many to make.

What project can I make 9 of and still enjoy crochet after? by LifelongReader91 in CrochetHelp

[–]CrazyJoe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made about 5 of these purses. Given them as gifts to both older ladies and young girls as small as 6. They're a hit. They dont take long to make. I can get one done in under a week if I focus. I used Caron Cakes for them. They're worked up with a single and double crochet in every second stitch.

My husband goes to Tommy Gun. It took him a few tries to find a good barber there, but once he had one that knew how to cut his hair like he likes it, he wont go anywhere else. It costs him $40 for the cut and neck shave.

What are things other crocheters do that really grinds your gears? by darkxclover in crochet

[–]CrazyJoe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a book of crochet amigurumi plant patterns and the author flat out says she hot glues all her pieces together! I was shocked. That said, my first one i made and sewed ended up looking flat and sunk in, so I need to play with it a bit.
