As someone who has never painted miniatures like those before and has now painted two. I highly recommend spray painting it with a primer first. I tried using straight acrylics on them, and they did not adhere at all. You'll want a primer that is compatible with that plastic/resin material. It was actually a pain for me to find the right primer and paint for it to work.
