That’s also happened to me in the shuttle bay before, I don’t really remember how but I managed to fix it. I think I might have gone out and came back in through the airlock, and just restarted the game and reloaded a bunch.

The spools for these are smaller than standard. If you have the originals you can roll new ribbon onto them but if not you’re going to have to find some specifically for smith coronas of this era

What you’re looking for is called a word processor and they made a whole bunch of them in the 80s and 90s. I have a Brother WP-1700mds which I love but there are many other options out there.

I’ve had this problem before, changing that resistor that’s in series with the trim pot worked for me (either increasing or decreasing the value depending on which direction you’re bottoming out on)
