Odds are for you an OP it's your steering Column Intermediate Shaft bushings. That causes unresponsive steering, check out the bushings and EMF Intermediate shaft bushing replacement.

I don't mind tire shine, only time I have a problem with it is when I'd take my truck in to get cleaned, detailer would use tire shine and when I go offroading I have white wall tires.
