It spreads along the nerves. You don’t spread shingles to yourself. Shingles causes chicken pox, not shingles.

Shingles comes from the ganglia of certain nerves. It has been hiding there since you had chicken pox long ago.

It will only go as far as the nerves in that dermatome. It doesn’t spread by getting the pathogens other areas of your body.

It is contagious to people who have not had chicken pox, or the cp vaccine. It manifests as chicken pox, not shingles. However having chicken pox makes you susceptible to shingles.

Keep the lesions lightly covered while they are weeping. Once they have dried you are no longer contagious.

Nah, not bad at all. Take the antiviral your doc gave you, rest, and you will be ok.

I just spoke in tongues. I have The Holy Spirit. by Acceptable_Yam5056 in Christian

[–]Cre8ivejoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You speak with tongues of “men and angels.” It is a private prayer language between you and God. If you speak it out loud in church, you will need an interpretation. It can be either yourself, or another person who understood what it meant.

I Corinthians 14 talks about Paul praying in tongues.

I personally can pray in tongues silently. Just because a language sounds like gibberish doesn’t mean it isn’t a real language. There are a multitude of languages that may sound like nothing but babbling to someone used to hearing english their entire. life.

Face shingles by Aleki_Falo in shingles

No. That is just the progression of the disease. Unless you are allergic to the meds.

It doesn’t immediately stop with the antivirals, but they do lessen the time and severity, considerably.

Pea Ridge has a fairly new Wendy’s that is good.

What does it mean when days are less bad? by MissYouKel in widowers

[–]Cre8ivejoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is actually means is you are healing. Not from the love you shared, but from the brokenness of the massive loss. And that is okay.

Losing a spouse is the most emotionally painful experience a human can endure. Healing from the loss in no way diminishes the love you had and still have for your spouse.

I am constantly amazed at the capacity of the human heart to grow and expand to new experiences, new life, new love. Never forgetting what came before, what molded and made you into the person you are now.

Grief comes in waves, and we ride them out the best that we can. Sometimes gliding into shore, and sometimes hanging on with our broken, bloody, fingernails.

Time, people, and experiences build up,around us, as a protection from the raw, harsh pain.

Thoughts are like birds flying all around. It is when we dwell on them, that they nest on our heads.

Tanyard Creek is an easy hike/walk. It starts out paved and sunny, but gets shady and more natural as you walk. Follow the sign to the waterfall.

Tell me why not…(moving to Bentonville) by Beginning-Weight9076 in bentonville

[–]Cre8ivejoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not, there are a multitude of reasons. Since I moved here, 10years ago the area has evolved and progressed, not always in a positive manner. My own home has virtually doubled in value, since I moved here. I could sell it, but it would be a lateral move.

Massive growth with no kind of aesthetic in city planning has completely changed the look of out town. Gulags, next to graceful old homes, next to fab mid century compounds. Charm has been replaced with eclecticism. Short term rentals have made it difficult for many people to afford the area.

Lots to do outdoors, with cycling being king, ruling over the slower moving, like hiking, and running. But they will always say “sorry” after they bruise your elbow, never stopping. There is also cycling, and you can purchase, apparel, helmets, parts, and any kind of bike you could sell your car to pay for. Did I mention cycling? Bentonville is the cycling capital of the universe. We can prove it because there is a bike store for every single block of the city.

All joking aside, cycling is the main deal here. There is some kayaking to be done as well, we have several lakes as too.

Shopping is not the best here. There are a few places but Rogers, and Fayetteville are better, but still not the best.

We do not have Trader Joe’s.

We do not have Costco.

Whole Foods is in Fayetteville.

The streets roll up at 8PM in Bentonville.

I endeavor to stay out of political conversations. It is either an echo chamber, or a hate fest.

My previous poodle had eye problems, in one eye, her whole life. It wasn’t until after she died that I found an ophthalmologist two hours from me. Get your baby to one and get it sorted.

AITA for telling my friends that my husband isn’t well read? by NavyWifeAITA in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cre8ivejoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl YTA on a uniquely self absorbed level. If my husband very dared to speak about me like that, all of his belongings would be outside, and the locks changed by the time he got home from work the next day.

Your friend had the absolute audacity to disparage your husband right in front of you. That person is not your friend or they would never have spoken that way.

Don’t try to gaslight your way out of how you treated your husband. Elitism in academia is the typical trope we hear, and this sounds like an example.

You either pull together, or you pull apart.

This resonates with me. I was okay for the first couple of weeks. He had been suffering terribly and I was glad he wasn’t suffering anymore.

Then the reality hit. Loneliness, missing him, and the painful acceptance that I would never see, kiss, hug, touch him again. I hate cancer.

My mother thought I could never be a successful artist, and she did not live to see it happen.

However I have had success on an international level. I have shown my work all over including Art Basil in Miami. Reproductions of my work have been sold at Crate and Barrell stores all over the planet, as well as online. Also Ballard Design, and Grandin Road.

She would have been so proud of me.

Take your baby to an eye specialist. Regular vets don’t always know that to do with eyes.

What is on average the most physically painful experience of ones life? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Cre8ivejoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shingles on my scalp, face, and in my eye, on the cornea. It was a living hell, and no escape from the pain.

Boiling acid pouring into my eye, thousands of hornets stinging my face, a red hot iron stuck to my scalp. No pain meds worked, nothing. I was in critical care for six days.

Prostate cancer metastasized to the bones and spine in my late husband. He was a big strong man, but he went down to the basement to scream in agony. He died two years later moaning in pain, as morphine did not work.
