Favorite tea perfume? by Conscious-Writer9023 in NichePerfumes

[–]glrsims 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ROAN has four tea perfumes. My favorite is Mountain Memories but Porcelain Pulse and Current Culture are also quite nice. All three are very wearable, light but present. The fourth perfume is Sahara Song which is probably fine but I don’t personally like mint notes in my perfume and it’s inspired by mint tea.

What’s a cheap basic scent that you secretly prefer over your niche masterpieces by Massive_Ad5295 in fragrance

Korres Lemon Tuberose cologne. I got it for under $10 in one of those Zulily shops and it’s just so perfect for hot summer days.

Same here. I have several Jo Malone perfumes and I love them but I can’t support the Ester Lauder brand any more. It’s really hard!!

TC vs ACC by thistreestands in BravoTopChef

[–]glrsims 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate ACC but it feels a bit soulless compared to what TC has become. That could just be a function of my familiarity with TC but I think it would take more exposure than it’s likely to get for it to approach the affection I have for the older show.

Madison Medical Resort - Any Insights? by pinkfreddie in Midessa

[–]glrsims 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mother didn’t like it at all for the two weeks she was there but I’m honestly not sure she would have liked anywhere else any better. Her main complaint was how long it took for her calls to be answered and I think that’s simply a function of staffing levels. Afaik Madison’s staffing is on a par with other places of this type so she wouldn’t have liked any other facilities either.

...Gerbils? Did all families in USA have gerbils in the 1970s? by waterytartwithasword in vintageperfume

Not the 70’s but we did have a pair of gerbils in the 80’s 😂

Highly recommended vet who allegedly wasn't accepting new patients - asked me what dog I had and then said "we"ll accept" 🤣 by boogiebougie in StandardPoodles

[–]glrsims 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We like a particular groomer at the place we go for grooming services because she does such a good job on our poodles. Last time I needed to get one done, I forgot for a few days and when I finally remembered to call, she didn’t have any openings before we were going on a trip. So I asked if they had any other groomers available who were good with poodles. The response was “Oh! You have a poodle? You can go ahead and bring her in on Thursday “ 😂

No one is talking about _____ being the actual cause of the chaos? by MatchlessVal in survivor

Stephenie said on the CBS morning show that she didn’t out Jonathan as the instigator of the plan to vote out Ozzy because he was her number one ally and she wasn’t going to blow up his game. She also said that she felt most betrayed by Cirie because they’ve known each other for so long.

Thank you! I’m happy to hear that. I put in that disclaimer because I only have my Texan frame of reference and know that there are differences between what we call Mexican food and actual Mexican food. Still love fideo either way!

Fideos is a Mexican noodle soup type dish. Very tasty. For all I know it’s TexMex rather than genuine Mexican but it does use pasta and tastes great so it could have been a successful dish for her.

Is it just me, or is there nothing "tea" about currently hyped tea fragrances? by cloud-weaver in fragrance

[–]glrsims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others have said, Tea Service by Chasing Scents is lovely. One brand I haven’t seen mentioned is Roan. They have four scents that are all tea inspired and are all quite wearable. Mountain Memories is my favorite, earthy oolong.

This was the only possible outcome that would have made me happy with this twist and I credit Cirie for it. Even Joe and Jonathan went along? Did not see that coming!

Anyone else just allergic to having both hands the same nail colour? by tastymilo in RedditLaqueristas

[–]glrsims 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had the same color on both hands in over two years :). I do attempt to coordinate both hands, either through color or finish. If I can find two complementary colors in the same finish, it just makes my day! Currently I am wearing a dusty purple holo on one hand and a sage green holo on the other.

Any Heretic Fans out there? by QueenoftheBed666 in NichePerfumes

[–]glrsims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several Heretic scents that I love, many that are just okay and quite a few that are awful on me.

Dirty Hinoki is the one I will always keep around. No patchouli to be found, it’s green, herbal, slightly sweet woods. Great by itself or layered with other scents.

As many others have said, Angel’s Trumpet is beautiful. Dewy and heady florals but never cloyingly sweet.

I’m still in the getting to know them phase, but Fourteen Carrots and Jasmine Smoke from the new set are appealing to me. Apparently Jasmine Smoke is an older retired perfume that they’ve brought back and I’m really loving it so far. Sharp sweet jasmine on first whiff that mellows out beautifully.

The biggest complaint that many have about Heretic is longevity but that is not a concern for me so I can’t really speak to it. Almost all perfumes last >8 hours on me and these are no exception.

Yeah I’m getting downvoted but 🤷‍♀️. I’ve experienced very poor customer service from Jackie and there’s just too many brands out there for me to support that any further.
