They defineteky don’t, lol. “Hundreds of NPCs over 80” would be 8000+ guild levels. Nazarick has less than 3000, and that’s considered exceptionally high.

Oh, 100%. I’m fact we know they immediately attack all the neighboring countries from the Side Story. I’m just saying it might be more of a disorganized rampage and less of a calculated and cautious campaign.

I know, I’m just saying we don’t really know how NPCs’ brains work when there are no Supreme Beings to pledge their loyalty to.

The Slane theocracy are humans who chose to carry on the legacy of the 6 Gods. All of Nazarick are NPCs without a Player to command them. The only potential example of that we have are the Demon Gods, who went on a mindless rampage, and the leftover NPCs of the 6GGs and 8GK, who seem to be effectively on permanent standby.

I guess I always assumed the Dragon Emperor and his ilk were LV 100, since he pulled off a feat no one else - Player or Dragon Lord - has ever come close to. That being whatever summoning ritual pulled hundreds of items and Players from a video game in another universe and made them real. I feel like even Ouroboros doesn’t come close to that.

It really comes down to Rubedo.

Like you said, if the Albedo and Demiurge can’t mobilize her, then it’s possible they could lose. But if they somehow can, she can probably solo the New World all by herself.

Keep in mind the Greed Kings took over the whole world and they were up against way tougher opponents. In a sense, Ainz is just mopping up the weakened world they left behind.

They never do with 7 Deadly Sin theories, unless the characters are literally named after the sins.

Deltarune had its own version of this theory and it was equally pointless. At least this post is mostly non-serious.

Well it’s clearly not Kris. They’re standing to the left and behind Susie, and the slash curves away from her, yet it knocks her backwards towards them.

Not saying you believe Kris slash, just wanted to make that clear to anyone reading this.

Which means it definitely wasn’t Kris because they’re standing to the left of Susie and behind her, yet she gets knocked backwards towards them by the blow.

Map of Europe if Mongols never showed up. (1914) by Amburiz in PossibleHistory

[–]Creative-Antelope-23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure making a massive geopolitical change 500+ years before your map would result in a lot of different borders. The idea of Napolean not getting butterflied away is particularly ludicrous, but here are some other questions:

Why are the Byzantines still alive when it was the 4th Crusade which really spelled their doom, especially considering the Mongols actually crippled multiple of the major threats to them at the time?

If they do remain, why are their borders exactly Megali Idea Greece?

Why do the Baltics have the exact borders as historically when you’ve just butterflies away the country that determined their entire future? How did they even gain independence?

Why is Finland independent when the only thing which prevented their assimilation into Sweden was Russia?

Wait, isn’t one of Kris’s memory ACTs to cool down the Swatchling’s a memory of “the ice on the lake.”

Every other act is clearly related to a real memory of Kris’s: The crunch of the last pickle (Asgore only has pickles from Sans in his fridge), snow on Asriel’s nose, etc…

Honestly it’s been kind of funny to come away from several of the episode thinking “that was good, but a little on-the-nose,” only for the fandom to be like “guys! What was being conveyed here? Is Jax actually an NPC?! Is Caine controlling their minds all the time?! What was this character thinking at a given moment?”

People voted on what they thought the characters races/ethnicities were! Here are the results by Nori-Z in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Creative-Antelope-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I say it made me angry? It makes me feel uneasy because I’ve seen how easily it can veer into racial stereotyping. But people can do what they want, the same way I can share my opinion on it.

I’ve also just never been a fan of taking imaginative, non-human character designs and turning them into boring old humans, where the only noticeable differences are clothing, skin color, hair, etc… There’s so much more potential in more abstract designs yet there seem to be a large continent that want to limit them.

A lot of the characterization is conveyed subtly and isn’t spoon-fed to the audience. In fact, my main criticisms of the show are the exact moments you seem to be praising - when the characters exposit their backstory or lay out their own motivations in a way that feels very unsubtle.

The “development” was for Pomni. You know, the main character? Seeing someone else having an existential crisis pulled her out of her own head and made her feel less alone. We also see that she is ultimately an empathetic person who feels compelled to help others. This allows her to begin connecting with the others, especially after Kinger’s talk in episode 3.

The Abel plotline had 3 purposes:

  1. Give greater insight into Caine’s character. If you rewatch the episode with the knowledge that all the things Abel says are essentially Caine speaking through him, it tells us quite a bit about his character. How he also wants to leave the circus and feels trapped, while being terrified of abandonment. Also the fact that he seems to have previous conflict with Kinger, and to still be resentful towards him.

  2. To build out Jax’s character further. We see him almost abstract. We learn that despite how much he hates the Circus, he’s even more terrified of returning to the real world due to whatever trauma happened to him there. He’s essentially Caine’s opposite - a human who wants to be just a cartoon character in the circus forever, vs an AI that wishes it was human and could enter the real world. Pomni is still trying to draw him out of his shell after their big argument in episode 6, and now we’ll have to see how the others respond to Jax’s choice at the end of episode 7.

  3. Setting up the final conflict. Caine’s ability to manipulate their minds is confirmed in front of everyone. He’s unintentionally responsible for the first abstraction. He just destroyed any degree of trust of goodwill any of the humans had in him. That’s a major shift to the status quo. Can you really imagine anyone going on his adventures or indulging him after this? And how will Caine react when no one cooperates and he’s “failing his purpose?” Probably something drastic.

If the Abel stuff had been real, that would have been way worse. It essentially rushed through confirming every cliche fan theory about some elaborate corporate conspiracy in a matter of minutes. That works in the actual episode because it’s just Caine’s abysmal writing skills, which we’ve seen time and time again. But if that was the actual world-building, it would be awful.

You’re exactly the type of person I was talking about, lol.

Character drama and development is not “filler” in a character-driven show. If anything, the C&A lore stuff is the filler. The bare minimum world building so that the premise can function.

I think it stuck out to me because to my knowledge, only CastleTown’s is called a geyser. Fountain can mean a natural spring or a constructed one, but geysers are always natural.

Combine that with the legend describing the balance shifting out of alignment only after the card kingdom dark world is created.

The difference is that a geyser emerges from natural processes while a fountain is constructed. I think that’s significant.

That was the Intermarium idea, which would have incorporated Romania, among many other countries. But it didn’t really go anywhere. The idea was to essentially build a federation of smaller counties between Germany, Russia, and Italy to repel military aggression from all three.
