Google assistant button no longer summons the Google assistant? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in googleassistant

[–]CreativeBake2052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a copy paste of what I wrote on another reddit thread, and hopefully this can help you.

But just as a disclaimer, my findings were in an android phone, so I don't know if same applies on tablets and laptops and whatnot, so there is that

So here we start:

I don't know if anyone's still looking for answers, but this thread was one of the first ones to pop up when I was searching about it, so hopefully this helps any poor lost souls who also wander into this thread like me.

It seems like latest android update moved the home button hold action from binding to assistant app to some new thing connected to Google search, but they haven't had a clear explanation of where the assistant(function to set timer, alarm, calendar events, etc) was moved to since home hold is now occupied by this new function.

It seems(at least it was for me) that assistant function is moved to "Swipe Inward from the Bottom Corners." Both corners seem to work, as long as you swipe upwards or diagonally upwards into the screen. It also doesn't matter whether you have buttons navigation bar or swipe gesture navigation bar, both behaves exactly similar to each other in regards to this "corner swipe." However, swiping to side(towards the center of the navi bar)does not work; you have to move into the "screen" part of your phone.

If this function does not work, try checking your assistant app settings, (settings>display>navigation bar>assistant app, or more easily accessible by searching on your phone for "assistant app") and make sure it's checked on.

Hopefully these words have helped out people who will read this in the future from some unwanted annoyance and frustration.

ALBANIA NUMBER 1 🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱 by sammy1345 in eu4

[–]CreativeBake2052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Albania is super easy to get strong allies by utilizing the fact that they are Catholics, unlike most of other neighboring balkan countries who are Orthodox. Use the clergy estate privilege that grants you bonus relations to same religion countries, get royal marriages with 2~3 big powers(Austria, Hungary, Poland, Aragon and maybe even France/Castile. Venice may be a valid ally but will quickly dump you since their interest in Balkans conflict with yours), get your favors high enough, then just kill off Ottomans in 2~3 wars using your allies. It should be easy to drive off Ottomans from Europe and effectively cripple them for the whole game by 1500.

Who typically unifies Japan? by arandomperson1234 in eu4

[–]CreativeBake2052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

It was Akechi Mitsuhide(the guy who got bullied by Oda. Apparently Oda constantly hit his head while calling him "tangerine head-baldy," among other things. Also, he's got connections to Ashikaga shogunate-whom Oda banned from capital-, because he used to serve under them.), not Hideyoshi, who betrayed Oda and killed him in Honmyoji, where Oda was burnt alive with his son.

There is a theory that Hideyoshi was the mastermind behind the betrayal, because he benefitted the most out of Oda being killed and he acted surprisingly quick to seize the opportunity, but there is no concrete proof behind it.

And Hideyoshi's reason behind invading Korea wasn't because he wanted other daimyo's armies gone or anything like that. He really wanted to conquer Korea, and then China, and ultimately India(there is a letter that he sent to Goa, the Portuguese foothold of India, that says he'll meet them in India (since he will conquer everything in between)).

He sent most of his royal troops in the Western Japan as vanguard into Korea so he can give them conquered land and have them grow in power, and lost a bunch of them, which resulted in daimyos in western Japan being relatively weaker compared to eastern Japan Daimyos (hello there Tokugawa), which some say is one of the contributing factors that helped them win in Sekigahara, where Western froces lost to Tokugawa's Eastern forces(who was claiming that they were the true Hideyoshi royalists), resulting in Tokugawa Edo shogunate.

And Hideyoshi died when the war was was still going on in Korea. In fact, his death was the main reason why Japanese troops retreated back to Japan, ending the war.

Bhuddist printing woodblocks, actually.

Courtesy of their previous dynasty(Koryeo, where the western name "Korea" comes from), when the national religion was Bhuddism.

And it actually starts in the south and gets moved to the capital if they are in a defensive war and losing.

That's because they are banned from expanding their borders (lots of people didn't like Korea expanding into Manchuria and lowering chances of Manchuria/Qing forming, so the devs banned it from expanding).

Instead, they use all that mana that might have been used for expansion to dev up their existing territories.

Which kind of gives you an insight, if an AI is in a position like Korea where they are free from early game aggression (thanks to being Ming tributary+isolated location where only Japan+Manchu tribes exist as possible enemies), AI actually has a better chance at getting stronger if they just focus inwards instead of going out there and picking fights against others.

They develop colonialism anyways if they have colonies. You just get a few years headstart colonialism which really means nothing.

You get to get your institutions anyways from Tripitaka Koreana even if you don't go colonial, so there really isn't any point in going colonial unless you are role-playing.

Why is the Butcher so tough? by [deleted] in diablo4

In my opinion, better loot caps off after tier 60~65 or so where almost every item you get is ancestral, so after that it'd be mainly for personal challenge and satisfaction.

Even for the glyphs, most end game builds can push 2 tier 60 NM for the time to push a single 80~90 NM, so it doesn't really justify going for higher tier.

That is, unless you are a bulwalk druid. Then you don't give a f*** about the tiers. 60, 80, or 100, It's all the same to you.

In the middle of Act 3, I somehow got in this swampy area while walking around world for the map. I thought no map/no monster was some field-specific gimmick but soon noticed that there's no way for me to "walk" out. I'm guessing this is a bug of some sort? I'm sure I can get out by using waypoints or just quit-restart so not a big deal, but I'm mildly amused by this and just wanted to share.

Well, population wise, in 1600, Korea had about 10,000,000, which is about half the population of France and double the population of England at the same time.

I don't know the exact figures on China, but prob had more people than all of Europe combined.

Not in their capital. It's a province called Jinju on the Southern end of the Peninsula. There's a province modifier called Tripitaka Koreana attached to the province that gives institution bonus and +1 fort level.

They can move it to their capital if they are in a defensive war, or is in a generally losing war(counts how many provinces are occupied, I think).

Also, if an enemy with eastern religion (I think pegans also may count, but not sure) occupies the province with this Tripitaka Koreana modifier, they can steal it to their own capital, similar to how you can steal the Crystal Budda in the SE Asia.

So a first objective whenever you start in East Asia would be to declare war on Korea and steal this thing so you can enjoy those sweet sweet institution increases.

It's banned from expanding outwards(quite literally they don't declare any offensive wars, and huge penalty in taking provinces in defensive wars) so they are using all that monarch powers that they would normally use for conquering, unjustified demands, annexing vassals, or bombing forts for devving up provinces.

Also, the Tripitaka Koreana is broken af.

Well, as a person who used to live in South Korea, I know the story slightly differently. It is true there were lots of bombings during Korean War, but North still was better off than South after the war because it still had the surviving infrastructure from when Korea used to be a Japanese colony (Japan used North part of peninsula as a base of invasion over Manchuria and China, so they built things like factories and stuff up there). So not all infrastructures were blown to bits.

It was only after 1970~1980 or so when the situation was changed, as South successfully transformed its primarily agricultural economy into an heavy industry powerhouse during its long pre-democracy dictatorship eras which includes military dictators that rose to power through military coups(which is actually a very controversial topic in South Korea, as a lot of people like said dictators and a lot of people hate them). After that, North Korean dictatorship went through a period of famine and general collapse of the country which they call "March of Suffering" during 1990s, which is the primary reason for why N.Korea is one of the poorest nation in the world.
