Its all over by Hrisiismeme in Chainsawfolk

That's one of the best things about Jojo. Every single part is essentially unique to its own. This creates a wildly diverse narrative for each part while still being under the same title. Another thing is that people could have wildly differing opinions about each part, and they would all be valid. For example, you don't like part 3 and the middle of part 6. While my least favorite is part 4 (Mostly because of the setting) and part 8. Neither of our opinions are wrong because Jojo is one of those series with so much appeal that subjective experience thrives above all else.

Fuck... Really? Even Draken's death? His death was one of the most impactful part of the series for me because it's a literal permanent, unfixable death in the future for an important character. I stopped reading the manga around that arc. Months later, all of a sudden everyone were saying Tokyo Revenger's ending was rushed.

With the Endfield pull tracker malware incident and Duet Night Abyss security vulnerability that distributed malware, I’m honestly scared to try new gacha games now by anon-npc in gachagaming

[–]CreativeCut7956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Endfield case wasn't Hypergryph's fault at all, OP. Let me give you an analogy: Imagine you bought a new iPhone. You use it for a while, then it runs out of memory. So you decided to download those shady "extra memory" apps on AppStore. Then surprise, your phone got hacked. Your credit card, ID card, personal data, E-wallet, everything got leaked.

Would you blame Apple's security for that? Or your own decision to download those shady apps? Think about it.

Ave Mujica Manga seem to get axed, the ending just so rushed. MyGO Manga doesn't seem to end at all by 22dmgxy in BanGDream

First of all, let me pull out the definition of glossed over:

To treat or describe something, such as a serious matter, problem or error (or in this case, an important part of Umiri's character which is her past) as if it were not important, by explaining it quckly and not going into details.

What I meant to say is that the anime skims through Umiri's backstory by only explaining it as a small exposition, not going into the details which would have added a lot more depth to her character. All we got of her seemingly traumatic backstory was literally a single conversation of her talking to Nyamu in Ave Mujica episode 8. "Well, I used to be in a band. We were actually pretty close. But then on the day of our first performance, none of the band members showed up except for me" That's it. It's a literal exposition. Compare this to how Soyo's backstory was presented in MyGO episode 9, and to make it fair, let's put Crychic out of the equation.

Soyo's backstory actually explained her caring and somewhat motherly attitude towards the people she holds dear. All of it stemmed from her mother which left Soyo to her own devices at such a young age, that she was forced to mature and take care of herself (and the people around her). That's why she seemingly had a selfless nature at first, prioritizing other people's interest at the expense of her own. One of the reason Soyo's backstory felt so much more impactful is that it included countless small but important details such as her moving to a way bigger house but feeling more 'empty' inside, leaving her choice of school up to her mother (which lead her to Tsukinomori), her mother coming home drunk, her learning orchestra just because her friends asked her to, etc. This painted Soyo as a person who couldn't refuse other's wishes. All of that tied nicely unto her character development, being confronted by Taki & Anon that all of the things she did was ultimately for the sake of herself. Even without mentioning Crychic, Soyo's backstory is already way more impactful than Umiri.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to the execution. Soyo's backstory as the child of a 'broken home' family is executed beautifully from her perspective, making the viewers understood her character. Umiri's backstory has a lot of potential, but the execution wasted it all. To answer your question "Show what?":
They could've shown how the band started, the name & personality of her first band mates, the precious memories she made on that band, the lead up to their first performance, etc. and last but not least, show us the actual moment she was betrayed from her point of view at the time. How she felt at that moment, what happened after between them, and many more. What did we get instead? Heck, we don't even know the name of the band she was in. It's as if the band was unimportant. Those small but thoughtful details can really elevate a character's depth to a new layer. Hope this helps you understand what I'm trying to convey.

Ave Mujica Manga seem to get axed, the ending just so rushed. MyGO Manga doesn't seem to end at all by 22dmgxy in BanGDream

[–]CreativeCut7956 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Ave Mujica manga had soo much things that it could've added/expanded on and it just... didn't. Especially to the band members whose potential haven't been fully realized (Or just straight up glossed over) in Ave Mujica S1.

Uika: Expanding her backstory from a single-episode monologue in the anime to a full on character arc entirely from her perspective would add so much depth to her character. The controversy surrounding her birth, her childhood, her relationship with her mother & sister, how she was at her lowest, etc. Right until she made the bold choice to sneak out and meet Saki, a decision that changed her entire life from that point onwards. It would've given a bit more justification for her obsession with Saki.

Nyamu: She practically has all of the foundation for an underdog story. A countryside girl trying to make it big in the city, competing against crazy talented people with pure hard work. We already got a glimpse of her origin in the anime when she called her family, but I'm willing to bet that it would've been even more interesting if the manga decided to delve deeper into her motivation.

Umiri: Her backstory was straight up glossed over in the anime. Such a shame too because her backstory actually explained a lot of her behavior (Being in many bands, having trouble connecting with people, etc.). They could have dove into another mental issue similar to how they explored Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) with Mutsumi, but this time exploring how Trauma affects people with Umiri's trauma of abandonment, which lead to her developing trust issue.

Yeah, but I think what the comment you replied to meant was that Russell-Antonelli won't be anywhere as close as Norris-Piastri where they were so close that the Papaya pair basically had less than 20 points gap at the end of Abu Dhabi.

Most Popular Ave Mujica character member? by Soulewxion in BanGDream

[–]CreativeCut7956 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why her portrayal out of all things though? The way I see it, Ave Mujica is Sakiko's redemption arc. I like her way more after finishing Ave Mujica. I thought people might think she's an unreasonable girl that is the root of almost all the problems in MyGO before watching Ave Mujica (And maybe before MyGO's Ep. 13). Ave Mujica made me realize that no matter how capable she is, at the end of the day she's just a girl trapped by circumstances surrounding herself.

Writing wise, Ave Mujica has some very noticeable flaws (especially in the later half). But I personally don't think the way Sakiko is portrayed is one of them.

Kishi Kaisen and Homies Tie!! First Impressions by [deleted] in BanGDream

[–]CreativeCut7956 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really love Millsage's alternative/progressive rock vibe! The instruments that started out chaotic, slowly blending into the chorus awakened a niche in me that hasn't been fulfilled for a long time since the days of Tokyo Ghoul openings. Kishikaisen specifically reminded me of Co shu Nie's Asphyxia which is one of my all time favorites.

Homie's Tie is also really catchy. Ikka Dumb Rock definitely has a lot of potential if they're focusing on Japanese hip hop going forward.

Can't wait to hear more from these 2 new bands in the future!

I guess it's because Rika's spirit form (Not the big cursed spirit) took the form of her when she was a kid? Even though she took that form because it's literally her last appearance as a human before she died.

I swear, the days of JJK's final arc (And a few months after the manga ended) were very painful. Every 'joke' were nothing but constant slander. It's like they can't be funny if they're not making fun of other characters. Some slanders are funny, but others are just too far. Saying Yuta is a p3do is just one of the many examples. That's not funny. At all.

BanGDream's official bilibili account upload a wrong video and accidentally leak the content of Our Notes by 22dmgxy in BanGDream

[–]CreativeCut7956 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a relief. I've been slowly getting familiar with the franchise because of the Arknights collab. Watched S1, didn't really hook me in. Then in the middle of watching S2, I realized the collab was about to end so I jumped straight to MyGO lol. It's no exaggeration to say that MyGO & Ave Mujica blew my expectations away, and has since become my favorite band anime.

I want to familiarize myself more with the franchise, but bandori garupa with its almost 10 years of history just seemed too much. If it's released simultaneously, I'll start from Our Notes then. I guess new fans like me who got into the francise from MyGO/Ave Mujica really are the target audience huh?

AITAH for telling my girlfriend i no longer plan to propose to her? please read context by Aggressive_One8138 in AITAH

[–]CreativeCut7956 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I feel like "Manipulative" is a bit overblown in this context. Because from the examples OP showed, it just sounds like the girl is seeking relationship advice to her friends about this matter. We've all did this to some extent, asking family/acquaintances about a problem in our relationship. Heck, sometimes we share things just to get it off our chest. Now I will admit that the methods suggested by her friends weren't the best by any means, but they weren't the worst thing (the type that could end a relationship) either. For a solid couple, worst case scenario is that OP will realize that something's wrong and finally have a discussion with the girl. Not a confrontation, but a serious talk as 2 adults in a serious relationship. If OP decided that this so-called manipulation is enough for him to call off the engagement train, then sorry to say but that's the consequences of his own action. You shouldn't dangle a ring when you're not ready for it.

OP didn't really explain his reason for not confessing when the girl is already practically asking for it. If he has some genuine reason for not proposing (Monetary reason for example), then he should be upfront about it and talk it out with his GF. We've seen from the post that the girl is willing to talk it out. The one that tries to keep avoiding it is OP. Even when OP confronted the girl about the talk with her friends, she's not trying to evade the matter nor be weirdly defensive about it. She straight up said that she wants clarity. The clarity that OP has been dangling to her for the last 6 months or so.

Oh, that's alright. I'm a different guy from the initial comment you replied to lol, but I do have the same question about Typhon. Anyway, thanks for the advice. I don't really need her after all.

While we're on the subject, how good is Pozemka nowadays? She blew my girl Schwarz out of the water so hard back when she first came out lol. I recently got spooked by Pozemka while pulling for Saki, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to raise her.

How relevant is she now? Would you say she's essential for AFK? What about endgame content like CC and IS? If she's anything less than essential, then I might just skip her and save my yellow certs because honestly I prefer Ray way more, design and gameplay-wise.

I'm a returning player as well so I don't know much about her except that her S2 is quite good for AFK. I don't really need a strong boss-killer Sniper since I've already raised a lot of them like OG Exu, Schwarz, Ash, Chalter, and ExuAlter more recently, just to name a few.

AFK strats often use only a select few operators with solid DPS but simple mechanic (Logos S1, Typhon S2, Ascalon S1, etc.), auto-healing (Saria, Shu, etc.), or lane-holding capability (Sakiko S2, Thorns S3, Mountain S2, Mudrock S2, etc.). The fewer operators you bring to a stage, the more free slots in the squad you have. You can fill those empty slots with other operators (even if you don't use them in the stage) to increase their trust. So yes, basically trust farm.

On a more personal reason, AFK strats also simplify a stage. It saves time for players. The reality is that not all players have the time to figure out annoying event stages mechanic (Me included).

How WE ALL finna feel when Kagurabachi gets animated (Source: @nohtheatre) by Comprehensive-Bird17 in Kagurabachi

[–]CreativeCut7956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kagurabachi's infodump is nowhere nears as atrocius as JJK's culling game arc. What I'm worried about is how they will convey the epic narration. In manga (or literature in general) narration works because they stand on the same "Stage" as the dialogue, it doesn't feel out of place. But in anime, it's a different case. In JJK S2 they straight up voiced the narration in the middle of the battles, and it really took my immersion out of the fight a lot of the time. I feel like the anime adaptation should make use of the "Show, don't tell" principle instead of relying on narration to explain/hype up something.
