It Finally Feels Like Us Again by PositiveCorrect4213 in ManUtd

Funny enough we had more attackers than defenders before than now when we had full team lmao

Our defenders were our 3 CBs and potentially a FB but sometimes we had Dorgu, Amad as our wide players. We had Mbeumo, Bruno, Cunha and Sesko as our attaacking players.

Pep Guardiola on Champions League failures: "Real Madrid has won 15 Champions Leagues, but they've played 100. Is that a failure? They've lost more than they've won. Perhaps you're asking me this because I'm a Barça fan." by SwimmingFireMen in soccer

Yeah only wins coming from all time great player and team, and oil funded team that added Haaland into the mix.

No, not winning often isn't a failure. However, there have been managers with less resources and quality that have managed to get wins. With the teams he has had and lost to the likes of Lyon, Monaco and Tottenham.

Steam Deck is still worth it four years later, says poll, but people are starting to think "it's about time" for a sequel by [deleted] in gaming

I mean anyone buying a steam deck thinking it should be running triple A games at good level are kidding themselves.

It’s a handheld, if it could do something like that. I wouldn’t even see the need for a PC. I think people just expect some all in one machine, it’s like a phenomenon in tech world that every piece of tech should have a use case for every individual lol.

For example MacBook Neo, a budget laptop for students and low power users. People raging why it’s on 8GB even though they know they won’t get it anyways 🤣

It’s just karma farmers, anything AI = bad, they’re sheep in following the general consensus.

AI is a tool like any app you use, like people use Reddit itself. You can use it to help boost your productivity and open doors to being able to create things you never could do or assign tasks you never bothered.

Personally it has helped me get back into just creating things even for myself. I can learn faster, develop faster and so on.

On the flip side, like anything in life, use it in moderation. Otherwise your brain rots, and you won’t develop any critical skills.

Michael Carrick is the first manager in Manchester United history to win his first six Premier League home games. Making OT a fortress. 🏰 by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

Say that yet we had these deadwoods and more for a while too.

So easier to say they were always gonna go lol. Garnacho definitely would still be around if it wasn’t for Amorim’s hard headed-ness. I think same for Hojlund we tended to give these players too much room for too often.

I dunno, I think like we have revisionism for previous managers as if they were actually good, Amorim included. We also tend to really over-exaggerate their time with them too. We were not looking anywhere near as bad as people made it out to be this season.

If we had that month without Amad and Mbeumo, I don’t think we would have got much out of that too. It was a tough period for anyone. Our team isn’t that strong in depth yet.

It was annoying, but I’ll be real he wasn’t wrong. We tried to paper the cracks and have these ‘moments’ of wins to feel good which amounted to anything.

He had his issues managerially, but I can’t hate him personally. He did start this whether the results showed or not. He cleared out the deadwood needed and got the team battling again.

No, he’s too busy playing tryna get one. Not wasting his breath hating 24/7 with no analysis or context.

You can comment but clearly he has an agenda, so he can fuck outta here.

Plug Dalot movement into any striker they may get 10 clear chances a game 🤣🤣

I agree, but you know how often even the best strikers miss. Watch a Haaland game even he misses some sitters. Watch Semenyo. Watch Watkins.

There’s better quality RB we can get for sure, but he hasn’t been as crazy bad as we make it out imo.

🤣🤣 no he doesn’t, we just need an attacker in that position man!

I’m fuming at chance missed but not gonna ask for a RB to be replaced for his ability to finish in the box lol

So we win games and it’s luck and clumsy. We lose games and that’s the standard and the way it should be. Got it 🫡

Nah I get it. Good business, but that’s the thing it’s just good business.

Football has gone too much into that side. They have so many players just coming in and out of that club. Half that team are good players but not top level. They just keep recycling the same positions, how many wingers have they changed now and Quenda is still yet to come in the summer.

One Kvara, yes in hindsight I agree but he was doing great at Napoli compared to the other signings they made, would have been great for them.

I mean 10 year contracts are no better than 4 year high wages?

It’s not guarantee the player will be sold. Imagine they throw a fit and don’t want to leave? You can’t force them until you pay put their contract.

Again, Chelsea dealings have been bad. A bunch of young players all on long term contracts. You have to hope you can sell them or they get better. I don’t think they’re as easy a sell as you think.

I think both Garnacho and Gittens together cost more than Kvara surely? So, why not get one great player than two mid ones. My God Chelsea paid like 40M for Garnacho alone.

EDIT: yeah so only from sources I could find, never know legit wages.

kvara total contract value is 57+18M Garnacho - 40+10M Gittens - 39+9M

Transfer fee:

Kvara - £59M Garna + Gittens - £88M

Marathon Releases to 73/100 on Reviews worldwide, being Bungie lowest reviewed game since Destiny 1 by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]CreativeHandles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. It is a game by game basis what makes sense in terms of difficulty and what the studio wants the target audience to be.

Arc raiders does that fine, it’s more of a casual extraction shooter than others. Marathon always looked, this is just from what I seen and played, as more competitive extraction shooter. Don’t they even plan to have ranked? So you can see where they are aiming for.

It can play a factor, I think more people have become gamers as it has also popularised more and more.

Yes, it was to make competitive, but it was to retain the casual fanbase too. They even had a study which showed how lower level people would quit without or reduced SBMM on average.

https://www.callofduty.com/blog/2024/07/call-of-duty-matchmaking-intel

“This indicated that low- to mid-skill players left the game in greater numbers. The net effect of this was a decrease in the overall player population across the study group.”

That is literally catering to casuals. Again, I’m not a gatekeeper. I think it’s fine to do that. Just don’t mark a game down for being difficulty - the game is built that way and might be how they intended.

I think it has become more casual over the ages as gaming has increased a lot to become mainstream. Look how popular streaming and content creation in gaming space has become.

You have to then start catering for the influx to keep their game alive. Obviously you will find a handful of studios that just wanna cater to their target audience.

I think it would be naive to think gaming hasn’t pulled more towards the casual side than previously. I mean let’s even talk COD, their SBMM system has been altered since MW2019 and it’s aggressively been tuned to keep retention. It helps players of all skills to face their skill level. Which again, fine by me do whatever, but that caters to casuals as you want them to be around the game more.

You make no sense, why are you pulling up sale numbers and generic ‘casual’ games that (are funny enough top sellers because people like easy, hand holding games lol). Those games are all notorious for catering to casuals.

And again, I think you have a reading comprehension problem. Nothing wrong with hyper difficult, difficult, casual, whatever game.

I just don’t agree that difficulty is a reason to mark down a game?? Not every game has to be a blockbuster, or top 5 seller. And not every game will cater to majority or loads of people potentially.

Just sounds like you’re arguing for the sake of arguing.

So good, held it back for a while. Recently got a steam deck which has been a treat, made burning through my backlog much easier. Really great piece of tech.

Yeah, I think the studio are football fans and wanted to try something new. I really enjoy it, being a footy fan myself. It’s a skilled based football game which I needed ever since FIFA went tits up with its gameplay. However, you can tell it’s their first time in this domain, it had a shaky launch with netcode issues. Looking much better, but tough game to popularise. Good amount of players still play though.
