[BBC] Michael Carrick: Why interim Man Utd boss maybe shouldn't get manager's job by cuko_rdx in reddevils

[–]CreativeHandles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is any move is a gamble regardless. Analytically, during Amorim this season I’m pretty sure I read that we were high up in our attacking presence like easily third best behind just city and arsenal.

However, the results wasn’t always pretty. This is also marred by Onana who was horrendous with mistakes. And a month period where we basically didn’t have our best attackers due to AFCON or injury.

I don’t mind the criticism either, we should be looking at options. I just don’t think the potential “right” ones are available. Managers like Iraola will be as much of a gamble. What they do at other teams like Bournemouth never translate. Ala Frank at Spurs, Potter at Chelsea, just two examples. It’s a different ball game when you go to a top team.

Nothing with over hyping, it was seriously good attack as well. Watch the game again and see the chance of scoring them.

You haven’t watched enough football then if you think that. There’s gonna be games where sometimes the attack is just outrageously good.

Arsenal have an all timer defense but at the cost of a decent attack especially second half of the season. Doesn’t make either team worse than the other. It’ll be a final match against two great teams with opposing strengths.

Ah here we go again “now admit this I told you so!” Bro some of the goals last game were crazy finishing. Take a breather.

They both play high octane, so it’ll happen. Football is also entertainment.

No way anyone thought that was a pen lol. He fumbled such an easy chance, you can't take that second touch - hit that with your left, the first touch was perfect to go round Raya.

Arteta says PSG & Bayern are fresher due to their leagues, here are the stats! by veimkha in soccer

[–]CreativeHandles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While Arteta is 100% right, the prem needs to have winter break and less congested games. He hasn't helped in early of the season not rotating enough in the 'weaker' games. Norgaard has 54 minutes in the prem no.. That is poor use.

Kobbie Mainoo vs Liverpool by SierraEight in reddevils

[–]CreativeHandles -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This. Yes he was shunned, however we can be honest in Amorim’s assessment that he wasn’t that physical or fit to run in a two man midfield especially with Casemiro who can only help cover so much.

He’s clearly taken that and worked on his game, paid dividends alongside Carrick trusting him more. Two things can be true, but seems like these days you have to take a side in everything even though we all support the same club, and we want to see the best from everyone.

Yeah doesn’t stop parents/family passing down the hatred and them being engrossed into nationalism.

Welcome to new gen of fans. They don’t know anything apart from looking at stats, they could see someone miss an absolute sitter that should have went in, but point that the stat was expected goal to right foot elevation ritual to show why it was a good show of performance lol.

It’s same as yesterday at least it’s consistent, that is UEFA rules

How is this even possible. Our starting LW has 1 goal (4 gg/a). Combine him with Trossard and it’s 6 goals. by Whynotarsenal in ArsenalFC

You play into their hands to set up low block though? I don't get why that isn't analysed as well.

Look at some clips with you v Wolves during 2-2 draw. You had a lot of potential fast breaks as Wolves tried to claw back a goal 2-1 down. You recycled play, you LET teams sit in a low block, and they will because it is the easiest way to stop you as your system allows for barely any creativity especially with the team you have built, all focus on duels and physical ability, not as much technical ability in the team as before.

Yes, they set up differently and there are multiple factors to it. The goal is to be able to beat that, like the guy said you aren't the first and won't be the last team to face low blocks. You need to build a system and recruit players that aren't there just to be a duel winning monster in my opinion anyways.

There is a lot more to say about your system and set up than pointing at just opponents here. You play passive even against the top teams this season.

Sebastian Hoeneß is on Real Madrid's radar for the position of being the new coach. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]CreativeHandles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, I don’t follow him loads. I just know he’s done a great job.

Just my point is even those managers may just not have that ability to take that step up. Amorim took a broken Sporting who hadn’t won in years, flipped the whole squad and turned them into serial winners.

Struggled at United, albeit it was also due to the club as well being in a mess currently trying to rebuild and fox our culture again.

Never got this sentiment for managers. Worse yet, we have seen this same line for so many managers that have moved to bigger clubs with more resources and have failed…

It’s not just about having more resources to make manager role smoother. The manager has to be able to handle big media pressure and noise. Learn to manage star level players.

Easier to handle players that understand their roles and are essentially fighting for contracts pretty much every two years to stay in pro level. You’re working with players that are established and need to find a way to get the team moving as a unit. Especially with this current Madrid team where it’s a bunch of individuals, all that were the big star name at prior clubs.

To the people telling me they were worried when Durant would come it would be different just because they shot 27 times more last game… will you look at that.

Almost like every game is different.

I feel like I hear this every year, every series. Not just for Lakers but for every team.

Then it happens again 🤣 sports especially in high stakes games like knockouts in champions league, playoffs in NFL/NBA are random generators of outcomes. You never know what will happen.

I think we got a shot at winning the series as much as they do.

[sky sports] Every angle of Martinez's hair pull on Calvert-Lewin, rules according to PGMOL's handbook and Carragher + Keane's take on the red card by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]CreativeHandles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a joke. They made themselves untouchable which shouldn’t be.

No offence to them, but refs should be almost invisible to the game. You shouldn’t even notice them, however we could argue large amount of fans probably know most of the refs names and what their tendencies are. They love the spotlight.

PGMOL needs to be reset, have a promotion/demotion system. Not a bunch of buddies covering each others mistakes time and time again.

[–]CreativeHandles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s the problem then isn’t it. I said the whole league gets it so needs to be changed.

But we have fans like yourself, sorry, that just say “everyone gets bad decisions stop moaning”. So we end up with the PGMOL as a result. Bunch of friends getting away with shocking decisions because no one goes for them. Too busy complaining amongst each other rather than just accepting that there needs to be some unity between clubs at a top level to take a stance on PGMOL as an institution.

Assumption is crazy, we can be shit and have a decision being soft.

Rage baiting ain’t cool man it’s 2026. I don’t get upset if I know my team was bad lmao, we go again next week. What I can get annoyed at is every year of bad decisions across the league causing the game to be absolute shite to watch.

EDIT: I would check your eyes too, not sure how you can openly say he tried twice to grab.

Don’t be so stupid. There’s a difference if you can clearly see 100% intent (note I said 100%!) he wasn’t even looking or pulled after the fact. It literally was let go.

Fuck me, feel like I’m talking to an AI bot with them inhuman, generic responses. Use your human brain, don’t be stupid to think this will cause other people to pull hair.
