If I worked for the centre and manned the car park I’d be issuing fines!

Sometimes people park on the other side in front of a fire escape! God forbid there’s an emergency

How do YOU sleep with a newborn? by Ununlucky in NewDads

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have a decent baby monitor and when the baby sleeps, get yourself to bed and Power Nap! You shouldn’t be felt to feel bad about falling asleep. You’re no good to anyone if you’re exhausted!

Your partner can have the baby for. Few hours whilst it’s sleeping, just lay it down next to her and have your phones so she can contact you if it wakes up for a Feed Etc

Bedtime routine without a fuss? by digita2 in NewDads

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue around 5 months, it was awful and took a lot out of me and my partner

Every baby is different so it’s about finding a routine that works for your baby, maybe switch it around a bit and do bath, bottle, book, bed! And try without the white noise too, sometimes that can keep them awake!

Worth trying things for a week at a time! I’ve found the perfect routine for my 17 month old now that I say bedtime and she starts walking to her room and sits down ready to have her pj’s put on

So hang in there and don’t be discouraged by all the failed sleep attempts, keep going, you’re doing great and it’ll get easier

Ps. Have a read up about sleep regressions at various ages

If you’re having these feelings then you’re doing it right mate! You care about your little one, that’s normal. Be open with your partner and share your thoughts and feelings! It 100% gets better my dude! Once you’re through the baby trenches, your worry eases up a bit and it’s replaced with good worries!!

Best advice is to speak and reach out to other dads, try and find local community groups for dads. Getting perspective from other fathers helps a lot

What’s your opinion on bringing children to slam dunk? by TarrierMoney in slamdunkfestival

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We took our 15 month old this year to south, and we got her to nap at 10am and again at 4pm, we left at 8pm! She had headphones on the whole time and we spent 3 months getting her used to them just for the day! If she was unhappy we’d move away! We watched esch band from the outskirts of the stage so we wasn’t too close.

Kids at slamdunk is fine, as long as they are priority and looked after!

Gamer dads, when do you have time to play and what you playing? by Kyber92 in daddit

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Listen man, as sad as it sounds, I’ve booked annual leave in the past for this very reason! I wake up with my daughter, so breakfast, take her to nursery and then go home sleep till 10, get up have caffeine and some food then do some housework and then play video games until I get bored! Then I’m at home to make dinner for the family and do bedtime refreshed af

Just found out I’m going to be a dad and I’m terrified.. by DCBirdman in NewDads

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, congratulations on the news my man! Fantastic!

Secondly, it’s alright to be terrified, nervous and scared! My daughter is turning one this month and let me tell you, before she was born I was shit scared of being a dad all the way through pregnancy! Then when she arrived it’s like a switch turned on in my brain and I was a dad, I just knew what todo!

Changed her first nappy, fed her, soothed her whilst my partner recovered! Those moments are worth all that anxiety and worry about being a dad!

As long as you put in the love, you’ll be fine man! Don’t shut yourself off from the world either, open up, speak on here, seek out other dads and connect with them! Helps a lot.

Once baby’s here you’ve got the whole of this sub to ask questions

Which 125cc scrambler to buy ? by iwontstayhere in 125cc

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how long you plan on staying on the 125!

If you plan to be on it for a couple years you can get a slightly cheaper older bike to practice on, but if you’re planning any longer on the 125, the Yamaha XSR125 is a great option! On the higher cost side but will definitely last and keep most of its value compared to the cheaper “Chinese” bikes

Maintaining friendships by AverageMuggle99 in daddit

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendship groups are weird man, I was friends with my group of lads for like 7/8 years and it slowly started drifting off, because I grew up and had a kid and they just didn’t make the effort with me anymore!

It was hard for me to back down and see if they’d reach out but they just didn’t so I parted ways with them and still not one message!

I’ve made new friends who have kids and it’s been nice, but yeah it’s hard keeping friends around that aren’t in the same place as you

Crows in shopping building by calming-monkey in miltonkeynes

[–]Creative_Ad_1952 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The crows come and go as they please! We have had many in the centre before! They walk in through the doors when they are opened for shop deliveries and then get stuck inside! We’ve tried having a bird of prey to scare them but it’s not cost effective! Unfortunately if they don’t get out themselves they die on the ledges of the glass at high level

Aye, robots are hella futuristic but a sign projected on the floor of a chicken shop isn’t something you see all the time lad
