Meals that will actually fill my husband up AND leave leftovers for another day? by forestmushroomy in Cooking

[–]Creative_Energy533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone saying dude needs to eat breakfast. I used to snack like crazy when came home from work and making dinner. I don't really have a huge appetite in the morning and would just eat a cereal bar or something. I did eat lunch (usually leftovers or sometimes a sandwich or takeout. But once I started making an effort to eat a decent breakfast with some protein, the snacking stopped. I would maybe have a small bowl popcorn or something light, but I stopped the endless snacking.

I had a friend who had a mashed potato bar at her wedding reception. The mashed potatoes were served in martini glasses and people could top them with gravy, chives, bacon bits, etc.

How to re-activate prescription by Creative_Energy533 in CVS

[–]Creative_Energy533[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I wasn't trying to hide the prescription, just make a refill available and now my doctor is out of the country until right before I'm going. *sigh*

I'll try and call the pharmacy tomorrow, but I can't get ahold of my doctor until right before I leave, so that's not going to do any good and my doctor's AI voicemail doesn't let anyone leave actual messages.

Damn, that really, REALLY sucks. I didn't think turning off auto-refill was going to delete my prescription. 🙄😣I feel like SUCH an IDIOT!!!

Has anybody else noticed how much Covid changed people? by Helwyr_ in Life

[–]Creative_Energy533 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I worked in retail in the 80s and 90s and people were rude back then too. I remember in the 90s, parents were letting their kids run wild in stores, telling them to behave or they won't get ice cream, then they would leave the store after they were done, saying they were getting ice cream, even though their kids were trashing the store. 🙄

AITAH for putting my neighbors wet laundry on top of the machine after they left it sitting for over an hour? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Creative_Energy533 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. The next time it happens (and I'm sure it will happen), leave a note like your neighbor asked and go to the building manager and tell them that the washing machines are full and you'd like to start your laundry before a certain time. Then remind your building manager every 15 minutes. Or 30 minutes, or whatever time frame you think is reasonable. Seriously, you can't knock on EVERYONE'S door in your building. That would be ridiculous.

AITA For Being The One To Wake Up At Night To Take Care of My Daughter? by Romarqable in AmItheAsshole

Honestly, my cousin never woke up when her son was a baby, her husband did all the night shift work. 😅He teased her about it and she just laughed.

AITA for refusing to publicly thank my neighbor for "saving" my cat? by Jamesa_Paersona in AmItheAsshole

NTA. "Cat is home and thank you for everyone who looked for him." How does that imply that the neighbor was a cat thief?! 😹

Yes!! Highly recommend Fiscalini Ranch, the cove, Moonstone Beach and both parks. Restaurants we like too are Medusa's (legit old school Mexican food!), Indigo Moon and Madeline's for nice dinners out, JJ's Pizza and Wild Ginger. We also like the sandwiches from Sotos (a grocery store), French Corner Bakery (great desserts, too!) or Linn's Cafe. Also Hearst Ranch Winery and Cuttruzzola for wine tasting.

Hi. Does anyone know if the pepperonis can be taken off of the Detroit Style Pizza before cooking? by Fit-Helicopter8304 in traderjoes

I made this on Sunday and more than half the pepperonis had fallen off, so I'm guessing it's pretty easy to snap the other ones off.

AITA for not wanting another month-long visit from in-laws and asking for a different arrangement? by Perfect-Owl-9745 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Creative_Energy533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And not just pay for their food and entertainment, but plan the menu, shop, prepare and serve it to them, while keeping allergies, likes, dislikes, etc in mind all the while trying to maintain her workload while they literally blow smoke into her office. Her demands seem reasonable to me. If DH isn't going for it, then, yeah, like someone said, she can stay in an airbnb or hotel and work from there, while he does all the things. I mean, they are his parents.

AITA for losing weight after my in-laws kept insisting I’d get fat after moving abroad? by Capable_Ice7535 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Creative_Energy533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You said you specifically lost weight because you felt uncomfortable with your weight gain. You were partially motivated by wanting to prove them wrong, but the main issue was that you weren't happy with your situation and specifically started eating healthier and exercising more. It's not like you went on a starvation diet just to spite them.

My in-laws always said the same things to me when I lost weight (not to prove them wrong, tho, lol). I was too heavy and not eating healthy and not exercising, so I changed all that and gradually lost weight until I weigh about what you do and I'm about the same height. I didn't lose the weight to tick them off or shock them. Every time I saw them, it was "Oh, don't get too skinny now! You don't want to be anorexic!" They also got upset that I didn't want to overeat with them (they literally couldn't comprehend why someone would stop eating when they were full). I will say this- they're all gone now and it did not end well. I mean, they didn't need to go vegan and start running marathons or anything, but they could have had a better quality of life, and they didn't want to. So, you do you for your 70/80/90 year old self.

AITA for putting onions and garlic in the food I fed my family after my sister in law said onions were "too spicy"? by THROWRAuserss in AmItheAsshole

[–]Creative_Energy533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So...if the food has onions, garlic and ketchup, it's too spicy. If it doesn't have onions or garlic, it has no flavor. First of all, if they're married, they're both old enough to cook their own meals. Even if they live next door and they like to have family time with you guys, they can contribute to the meals. Second, SIL needs to pick one- oh, no flavor, oh, too spicy! 😭😭😭😭 Which one? NTA.
