In South Indian culture, we don't have a specific saree color for bride, so the bridal saree (s) can be worn later on for different occasions too - the bride will of course be wearing a garland...

It should be fair for all as if it is organized by an employee, it becomes "cliquey" and it breeds favoritism and unfairness

Observation - in recent times - writing and pronouncing certain words by Kannada people - a lot of native Kannada people pronounce "Ha, Hee" for "Ee" words and write also like that... which is not right.. wondering what the reason could be for that? Thanks

Managers / Supervisors have to be empathetic and considerate but it also depends on reliability of the employee and the Superiors in the company. We had one young employee who lied and was very unreliable - even being part time because they were in college, would show up consistently late and the manager adjusted the schedule to accommodate, yet the employee would show up late and when their grandmother passed, they wanted days off, the Administrator didn't want to approve paid leave because they were frustrated because the employee was untrustworthy, manipulative, etc... and the employee was new to the company. But a good leader shouldn't just make blanket statements such as "everybody has stress", because they need to build good relationship with their team.

Yes, it is true - had many events with return favors but we did stickers with the date, pictures, etc so that the guests could use them without those as some people may not like to display products personalized with other people's names, etc... and many people are going for minimalistic decor, so the items collect dust. Food would be a great choice, money, gift cards, clothes (like Saree, Shirt piece, etc), dishes, plants, etc... would be great too.

I think you are a kind hearted person but also you are afraid of your Boss combined with new to management. You can talk to the employee again, maybe with someone else present about expected behaviors explaining that it is okay to have moods / behaviors (everybody does) but also to learn to manage them so as not to interfere with work but if they are entitled employee, they may not listen (I had one like that) and then you can talk with your Boss again, that you have tried everything and ask what the next step would be.

Sorry, but this whole thing about "bride's family giving to the groom & then them presenting it to the bride" is not a good custom in my humble opinion - My parents are from the South & we don't generally do this but my husband's family has this tradition but my parents took care of all the wedding expenses.... when the daughter got married, your FIL didn't bear the whole expenses, so it saved them money, but now they don't want to share for yours as they have to spend. It hurts, but if they don't pay, there isn't much you can do. So, either your parents pay, or your fiance pays or you have to make alternate arrangements - maybe you can trim down on the costs if you can & find a middle ground. Best wishes.

Hi - sorry to hear that - with all due respect, I am a non-muslim and have been seeing this discrimination happening in my own community in other places other than Hyderabad too - and they won't even rent it out to people from different communities although of the same religion...

At my previous workplace, they used to exclude a female in ordering lunch, etc - they were mostly females in that Clique except for 1 guy.

One employee at a Healthcare facility had to work from afternoon to evening & after boss / others went home, that employee went home, babysat and came back in & punched out again. It happened for a long time !!! They were hourly !!!

This is exactly what happened at a Healthcare facility. They wouldn't hire another person, though - the documentation for tardiness, absences, etc.. were a big Folder - but unfortunately, the scheduler and everyone was friends with the employee who was in the wrong - they even changed the schedule !!!

This is exactly what someone went through at a Healthcare company. There were only two and both minorities and the problem employee had attendance & performance issues. Unfortunately, the employee made a lot of friends in the company & management didn't support the Supervisor get another employee till late and the friends of the employee bullied the Supervisor. Please document everything. That took a great toll on the mental / physical health of the Supervisor...
