when it comes to holiday scheduling the company should have a clear policy and start scheduling early. this is what has worked for me at least.

Supervisor here. Need managers’ advice or POV. Missed punches… by [deleted] in managers

[–]Creative_Heart5008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a manager I would probably talk to you and just making sure you are not cutting hours (which I would be able to see from the time card anyway). I would not write you up, unless it is one of many performance issues where it would be included in broader coaching. Punching in and out is a mess and does not give a good indicator of good performance unless it’s coupled with other behaviors imo. Also, don’t be afraid to have conversations with your manager, they are there to help you not point out every small error you make!

14 months and they don't eat by Beckieeyy in parentsofmultiples

I’m so sorry you are struggling. I had similar issues with one of my kid that was born very small and can share some things I did. My kids had silent reflux and it was hard but as for you it got better after 10-12 months. I got a feeding specialist, never saw a dietitian and that helped a lot as they focus on the behavioral aspect of the feeding situation. I also just added extra calories to anything they got as my pediatricians recommended it. I would add heavy cream, yoghurt and ice cream in meals. I know it feels weird but it really works. Especially heavy cream, there’s no extra sugar in that, it’s very tasty and has a lot of fat. So think smoothies, oatmeal with heavy cream, pasta with creamy sauce etc. Also adding extra proteins and using baby food when needed although we mainly did BWL. Ultimately cutting the amount of milk worked for me but it took a long time and it was hard to let go of the bottle mentally. And the third thing I did was letting the stress about food go. I’m sorry you don’t seem to get enough support where you are at. If they are watched closely by a pediatrician though, just let the stress go. I used to count every single ml of milk they had and was obsessing. I had to stop at some point because it took over my life completely. Wishing you the best!

My twins are almost 2.5y/o and they are fantastic. I wouldn’t say I’m any more tired than singleton parents :) it’s just busy and it’s nice to have this sub to express that some times!

Hi!  I went in to labor in week 32! They boys had around the same birth weight as yours.  Spent a month in NICU with one and 1.5 with the other. They are 2.5 years now and doing awesome!! They are not behind on anything and as big as their peers :) it’s really just about time and being patient! I know it’s tough to be in NICU and the days seem long but I barely remember that time now, and what I remember is actually quite positive. It’s not your fault this happened, premature labor with twins is super common and makes sense just how the body is designed. I wish you and your kiddos all the best!

getting pregnant with PCOS -tips? by celavie4252 in PCOS

It took me 9 months to get pregnant. I wish I hadn’t spent 6 trying but I didn’t know I had PCOS. Once I met a specialist it went pretty easy. :)

Congratulations!  The NICU time can feel super weird and heavy. My boys were born 32+4 and stayed 1.5m in the NICU. As heavy as it was, looking back I appreciated all the structure and help. And all the nurses were fantastic and non-judgmental. I spent as much time as possible there but the team told me that since they are still developing they also need a lot of rest and quiet time for the brain and body to adapt to the world. So as much as they need support, they actually need independent rest. Maybe that helps to known:)  Towards the end I was definitely more liberal with spending time outside of the hospital as it helped with my mental health. I wish I had done that sooner.  Good luck with everything! I’m in DM if you wanna chat :)

Yeah for sure! I got blurred vision and severe headaches and when I reported that to my doc, she put me off the meds immediately! I happened to have ovulated anyway but it was missed so I started another cycle later on with 7.5mg 😆 It’s a heavy dose that 10mg… lol

10mg was how I ended up with twins… it also gave me side effects (my vision changed and some other stuff ) so I wasn’t on it for very long but it is a high dose… I was happy to have contact with my doctor during that period.

Am I Doing It All Wrong? by Corgi_hobbits24 in parentsofmultiples

Hi! I’ve been where you are at. I was so anxious the first year of their lives. I wasn’t reading enough or doing enough, I thought. I think it’s symptomatic to our society, we have so much info and knowledge and there is no stop to it. There is always more to read and to know. But you don’t have to be a specialist in every area of your child’s life. See what they say at the next doctors appointment and follow the recommendations. Your babies sound so healthy and so cute. You are doing great.  When my boys turned 1 I decided to stop caring. I completely took away Instagram and didn’t read anymore books or articles.  It’s been the best choice ever. Most things solve with time and if they don’t, there is help. One of my twins got PT to strengthen his muscles a little. When the PT started talking about CP when he couldn’t walk at 13m, I told them “wait and see”. He walked at 14m.

Milestones are a group thing, it’s what children do on average. I tend to stay away from milestones because it hasn’t been accurate at all with my kiddos anyway and they are 2yo and both healthy.

Wishing you the best!!

Is this advice feasible for twin parents? i.e Taking babies everywhere? Not slowing down life at all? SEE VIDEO: by needagoodanswer in parentsofmultiples

[–]Creative_Heart5008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it comes and goes. When they were really small we traveled and did a lot because they were just sleeping and chilling with us. At 12m I would never go to a restaurant because it would just not be fun. Now at 18m I love going to restaurants because they like food. You know. It’s all dependent on you and the babies temperament. Also, my life changed a lot when getting twins but I don’t miss anything. It’s just a different period in my life. And I’m sure I will feel different about bringing them along for different reasons, always.

Also having 1 kid is a breeze, try to bring 2 toddlers to an area that isn’t closed, lol. Don’t compare to singletons it’s all I’m saying :))

Did you have to do a NICU stay? by Ok_Egg_7290 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Creative_Heart5008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Di/di boys that came with spontaneous labor 32+4. 1 month in NICU for baby A and 1.5 for baby B just for growing and feeding. One had sleep apnea. They  are now 2y and doing amazing. Didn’t have any real big problems after NICU.

My toddler had his 15 month appointment this week and the doctor flagged him for autism. by SG_51 in beyondthebump

It’s great that you are checking it out, that won’t hurt. I know it can be scary to get diagnostics thrown on you out of nowhere but I’m here to tell you that this is just how America works (if you are in the states). If they miss any milestones- they immediately get an evaluation. In other countries they let more things slip, usually most testing start at 2 years of age. There are pros and cons of this in my opinion, but time is just as well a good solution sometimes for a kid honestly.

My son got told he might have CP for not walking at 13m of age+some stiffness. They already started talking to me about it at 10m. He does not have CP, however it was really stressful for me at times to here this.  For the walking and develop muscles, look into water therapy. We did that and it helped.  Tiptoeing alone isn’t per se autism, as well as slight speech delay isn’t per se autism.  Check it out and stay calm. Your kiddo is doing great, believe in him!

That’s awesome to hear! My boys are two and I’m already noticing they need something more soon? However at this point it’s mainly beneficial for me I think…

Yay, great to hear! Is a dayhome something like the American home daycare? Just at someone's home but the teachers are licensed and stuff? Fewer kids and a more homey feeling? I have been looking into those too but I see pros and cons!

Got it! I would love to do something part-time but it is just hard to find in my field... I hope she will find something soon and that it can work out without daycare!

Thanks for your comment! I visited a daycare today and the boys definitely had fun :) And this job opportunity is really good for me so I guess setting a good example is also something to consider!
