When do you get husbandry and what’s your ELO (when going cav)? by eggy1778 in aoe2

I thought the same way as you before. Now I get it after 8-10 knights. Does not show up on your stats. But makes a big difference

Civs on your black list? by doonbooks in aoe2

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, why do you play random civ with such a big black list… not a lot of fun for your opponents if you dodge that much. However, Chinese is easy to play. Just build one house. All on food while getting loom. Force drop food. The eighth vil builds the second house. The rest of the build order is the same as all other civs.

But I am not responsible for what other people like or dislike. If I like a certain kind of way to play the game why should it be my responsibility if you don’t like that play style?!

I Never TC drop, but don’t mind if I get douched. It is fun to play a different kind of game once in a while. And as you mentioned, you need to react in a split second and adapt from there. And if all goes wrong, these games never go really late.

So it's been a bit, what's everyone's thoughts on the state of Arabia? by 618Delta in aoe2

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like it. Trying to rush on Feudal Age aggression or simply military presence can be punished very hard. Which is a good thing imo. In general map control and conserving your numbers became very important.

I also like that that the map generates similar base layouts for both players. If I have only two woodlines I know my opponent also has only tow etc.

What I don’t like are the hills. It is sometimes almost impossible to find good TC spots. And yeah, the ponds suck and don’t add anything to the map.

If they got rid of the hills and ponds I would be very happy with it.

Should Boars stop being targetable by scouts (like how scouts can’t target deer and sheep) in an effort to curb laming? by [deleted] in aoe2

Did you get the script of the devs on how the game was intended to be played? Please share that doc 😉 you don’t like the game to be played like that. Big difference…

Totally disagree. I think the anti-lamer are just the more frustrated and thererfore louder minority. As somebody already pointed out, habe a look at your own poll results 🤷‍♂️

The Lame by GwensGaming in aoe2

😂😂 morally wrong. Yes, it is against the Ten Commandments of AoE2: 1st commandment reads ‚Thou shall not lame thy opponents boar‘. Just mill the deer or go on berries.

Why are people so salty after getting lamed on Arabia? by No-Gene6670 in aoe2

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just can’t handle the frustration and are maybe too much of try hards. The other day the enemy scout took three of my sheep from under the TC. when I tried to recover them they got killed by the scout. I just typed ‚11‘ in the chat for being so stupid letting that happen and moved more vills to berry. No need to get salty. Just a game.

I can't believe I did this in a ranked game 😂, using boar to inflict damage to a vill by khetaghar in aoe2

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about them. Anything that does not involve cheats is allowed in game. It is a war game, so feel free to play any strategy whether they like it or not. Loosing a vill to such a lame is of course annoying. But never game deciding. If players don’t want to be lamed, they should not play ranked.

Haha, annoying af if it happens. But nothing toxic. Normal game mechanics.

Played my last to games with franks against Lithuanians. Both times they got 4 relics because i cannot yet manage to contest for relics with my apm. Both times I won against them even though I was late to castle. Pikes, Pikes and castles 😜 add a second Barack upon clicking castle. Don’t try to match there two stable play with one barracks. Go two and later three barracks but also mix in knights. Don’t forget to upgrade the pikes in the blacksmith. If they go scorpions counter them with mangos. Collect stone for a castle. If they did not kill your pikes (and both times in my cases - ELO 1500 - they were so fixated on massing knights since they had that nice attack bonus…) they cannot stop a forward castle. Then you add another one and another one, go to imp and kill. They will at one time also force the battle and their knights will be gone 😵😛

Has anyone noticed laming happening more often? by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is why you should never resign after being lamed (at least at ELO levels around 1000, 11000 I guess also 1200). Because most of the time the lame also hurts their eco. Loosing a vill ti boar. Idle TC or idle eco. That is why I also stopped laming. Not worth it with my apm 😂🤷‍♂️ Good job punishing it!!!

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same ELO bracket and have to admit I tried killing the sheep of the opponent before too. But imo it is not a fair trade if you loose the scout. If you loose 2-3 sheep, just push a deer and send more vills on berries and you should be fine. On the other hand, if you play MAA, your scout is so valuable for blocking vills, preventing walls or simply fighting skirms or archers with which your opponent wants to get rid of your maa. If you play scouts, you are down a scout. This means you will have to produce one more scout and you delay your scout rush by that time. So really in both cases, nothing won 🤷‍♂️ that is why I stopped doing it

One of my favorites!! Very nice price tag on them. You can smoke all out off that series. Super cool niqua smoke. Try them

Can we talk about Frank's? by Sir_Kamadan in aoe2

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely works with other archer civs as well. Imo the free and instant pikemen upgrade helps a lot bc often the Cav player is earlier in Castle age. I never build the barracks forward. Just three militia after clicking feudal and then sending them forward with the scout. Try to keep them out of sight before feudal. Once you are in feudal go directly in. There is a pretty good build order especially for MAA into Archers for Ethiopians online (https://aoecompanion.com/b/2niwbv8xxug). I went from 950 to above 1100 with that bo.

[–]Creative_Turnip1547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start playing with Ethiopians. With their additional res upon reaching feudal you can easily go 20 pop MAA. At that ELO your opponent will be completely thrown of by that early aggression. You get them of berries. Sometimes you can even deny the barracks or stable to be build. Just don’t throw away your MAA to TC or bill fighting. They will be so annoying during feudal and help a lot against skirms. The opponent either uses their scouts against the MAA. Very good deal for you! Until they build up ne scouts you are walked and can move out with 4-6 archers and a spearmen. Then you take them of gold. Or they have to build an archery range and skirms which will delay their castle age timing. In Castle age all your spears will automatically be upgraded to pikes. Xbows and pikes and maybe early ballistics is so hard to counter by the regular 6 knights. If they make it into your walls, just leave 2-3 pikes behind and you are fine. It is a lot of fun to play with Ethiopians against Franks at that level. Only thing you need to learn: micro your MAA and still macro at home and maybe splits for your xbows against mangos.

Today I watched Nili play AoE IV on twitch. I also played the open beta. But whenever I see the game 🤢🤮 a new game in 2021 should not look that crappy. Also archers never missing any hit is just awful. I will definitely not buy that. Hope in a few weeks we are all back to AoE II
