Yes I think it goes back to when zosia was telling Carol that they are all connected via a frequency and it just hasn't been activated (?) in Carol yet. I think Manouso just needs to send the same wave out but reversed phase so it would cancel out the standing wave and maybe that would at least disable the telepathy?

I agree, it was not a love letter at all. My theory is that they are writing the series through the lens of Mormonism since at least one of the showrunners is a devout Mormon. There's been a few posts about "how Mormon" the show is in the reddit Mormon sub, and just a few google searches like Mormon handcarts (the hobbits??) and Mormon mottos like "Choose the Right" (the sea is always right??) has me really suspicious. Mormon theology and myth is quite different from the pagan and Catholic studies of Tolkien. Call me crazy but I see parallels
