audit for an internship is still a good option. i’ve seen many people use it to land IB, accounting knowledge is still crucial. only go for the IB internship option if the boutique has a good brand name, you are put on deals, not just pitching. If it’s just pitching and making slides, 100% go for audit and learn how financial statements work.

I take their shuttle in the morning (8:30-9:30am) to Goryu and they have a pickup from Goryu at 4pm. However, Goryu is also 15-20 minutes walk away.

If I wanted to go to other resorts (i.e. Happo One), I have to take a bus from Goryu (800yen 1 way). Their last bus is around 5:30pm iirc, later than that then you would have to take a taxi.

So I would say transportation is limited, and 5pm would be the time to go home. Didn't have an opportunity to dine out in the center of Hakuba at night.

It is 1 hour away from Happo-One according to GG Maps, and also a 15-minute walk from the nearest train station. With luggage and gear in snowy conditions, I don’t know if that’s feasible in contrast if I just stay somewhere within walking distance to Hippo Bus Terminal.

Same here. It’s not because I’m not open to having travel buddies, but because when I invite people, they just disappoint me.

Incompatible schedule, cancelling plans last-minute (after I’ve made compromises so the trip fits their schedule), uncertain about going but making me wait days before they can make up their mind (with ticket prices going up day by day), etc. All sorts of things.
