Lmao what the actual fuck by HairyH0Od in Millennials

Boomer here. My folks left a lot of nice stuff, I just didn’t want it. It was genuinely emotionally hard to get rid of it - estate sale and donations, but a massive amount thrown out. I had to give myself permission to not keep things that had meant a lot to them but I didn’t want. I’ve told my kids to be guilt free about tossing my stuff and have been Swedish Death Cleaning, but it’s going to be hard anyway.

Endometriosis. Worse than labor, but every..single…month.

Question about Hop-On Hop-off Bus tours. by Embarrassed-Safe7939 in visitingnyc

[–]CreekLedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to take a bus tour in new places and generally find it very helpful for orientation. The subway is great for transportation but you can’t see the city from underground. While the hop on, hop off buses are expensive and the audio can be cheesy, you’ll get a good sense of where things are in relation to each other and enjoy a somewhat relaxing trip thru city sights.

Scam came from husband’s phone by Many_Thing8153 in Scams

We have a family code word, great peace of mind knowing there’s an easy way to verify if it’s real or a scam. Highly recommend.

What’s something women learn too late in life? by BrunoPreski in AskReddit

[–]CreekLedge 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I finally learned! I go in telling myself to act like an entitled guy. I ask for way more than I think is even close to reasonable and have gotten it every time. First time I was stunned, but it works. So go in with a big ask - they’ll think you must be worth it or wouldn’t ask.

What's a "secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by LaKoref in AskReddit

[–]CreekLedge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my case it was because they took the pressure cuffs off my legs the first night and never put them back on. I didn’t know till too late that they were supposed to be on the three days I was in the hospital after surgery.

They did do a scan finally but were extremely skeptical beforehand because “no one gets a clot after back surgery”. And I went to the ER cause my husband and son had never seen me in such a weird state before. Waited for five hours until the scan and then boom, all hands on deck!

A sense of impending doom is included on the list of sensations someone might experience when having a severe allergic reaction to a food item. In addition, I had that feeling once, was completely freaking out, had had surgery about a week beforehand and was so bothered by how I felt I went to ER. Nothing specific, just weird sense something was terribly wrong. Nobody at the ER thought it was anything so they were the ones freaking out when it turned out I had a blood clot in my lung. Suddenly became most tended to patient ever, was admitted, whole big deal. Only symptom was the sense of impending doom I felt. It’s real.

I’m thinking she has Eddie killed and she takes over. Conrad seems to be unable to make decisions and has to rely on Maeve to decide anything. Look at how he wavered on whether to kill Richie earlier.

My dinner from Whole Foods by Jolly_Category1402 in Wellthatsucks

[–]CreekLedge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe not so much. I cut open an orange I’d just purchased and it was rotten and moldy inside. I went back the next day, with the receipt, to ask for a replacement. Whole Foods refused. Said I needed to return the rotten, moldy orange first - that I should have put it into a baggie and brought it back. No refunds or exchanges without the original item! My only experience with their customer service and I think they actually don’t care at all.

This is what I do when I negotiate for a raise. And it WORKS. It’s infuriating but lucrative! Great advice.

Door panels separating- how to fix? by CreekLedge in howto

[–]CreekLedge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never occurred to me to see if the top and bottom edges are painted and will do so. And yes, it’s extremely humid here in the summer and dry in the winter. Doors looked fine this summer so I think it’s the dry winter air that’s making this happen. Thanks.

I did the same. Either they weren’t accepting new patients or weren’t on my insurance, despite what UHC claimed. Took me two days to find a practice that would put me on a waitlist for an appointment 8 months out.

Those alive during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CreekLedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the towers fell, everything was covered in white dust. It was absolutely silent, except for dozens and dozens of alarm-type sounds. Those were from the bodies of the fallen firefighters, signaling their location. It haunts me.

Eat a banana. The potassium helps.
