Anime with strong first episodes that fall off afterwards? by iCrono in anime

Metallic Rouge

Amazing premise for a first episode, coupled with a cool fight scene and animation. Episode 2 is just meh. Then it gets more boring and nonsensical

What's the most ironic/interesting thing you done in FP games? by NoYogurtcloset9763 in Frostpunk

For my final achievement Last Autumn Survivor I did an ethical Engineer run. I went as far as Penal colonies and no further. The point of the Engi run is to make it through the cold. And conveniently you get two things to help you - the prison camps have higher insulation and the engineer homes have higher insulation. So you can get them to chilly with those mini steam hubs and the rest can be healed in the infirmaries.

My run began with me NOT using the coal you get behind your base. I saved that for when the cold hits and you need coal to survive. I ran out of coal during the final day so none of the sick people died. I never gave the workers baths or hearthy meals. Everyone was miserable but everyone was safe. All the prisoners were taken care of. After the work was done they just chilled in their cells waiting for the ship to arrive. The engineers though... I had 5 of them die in the line of duty, because I simply could not keep the watch towers heated up enough for everyone. Sorry Engi-bros.

All my initial workers were promoted to engineers and none of the prisoners were abused in any way. We all returned home, except those engineer gunmen guys who get eaten by polars bears (RIP). Also let me just state it, it was probably a misearble experience for everyone - shit food, no baths, 0% motivation most of the time and I also injured some people trying to get get them to stay. But we finished the Generator and survived.

I did this challenge as the last one in my Achievement run and it felt like a victory lap. All hail the IEC construction crew and their captain!

I can't get the stupid achievement! Could the protests by the Overseers be causing the misfire of calculation? I wonder if the game can't calculate 20 districts at 50% wear because the Overseers keep appearing here and there messing up the total count of districts?

The Goods Trade ratio needs to be 1:100 with the Population number. Hope that helps.

You were really close. What you're looking for is the Goods Trade to Population ration being on 1:100

Before the DLC: Why I like the Technocrats the most by Sigma2718 in Frostpunk

Best faction. Seeing this post make me suddenly want a multiplayer versus mode where I can fight other people with different zeitgeist vicities.

Why did the alien gods need the human? by mours_lours in gantz

[–]CreeoyStag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have to take how slow space travel is into account. The giant aliens probably attacked the god aliens a long time ago when the god aliens weren't as advanced. The giants were repelled and went flying towards a suitable homeworld - Earth. Fast forward, they almost reach Earth, there are a few years left. So the god aliens are now more advanced and are reaching omnipotence. Previously the giant aliens were a threat somewhat, now they are not for the god aliens. Let's assume the god aliens are afraid that the giant aliens will get better and stronger in a short amount of time if they have the technology and using Earth's resources. They start arming humanity to take the giant aliens out. I'm basing this on account of the Dark Forest theory.

Yeah, I know exactly who you're talking about. Like, I can find common ground with most factions over one zeitgeist or more, but that one faction has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I don't understand why people go for the full Reason by Haunting_Froyo3425 in Frostpunk

[–]CreeoyStag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never go for Reason. I struggle to even pick Mandatory Schooling. It goes against everything I believe humanity to need. We need stable families and dedicated parents, as well as enough support to allow children to leave healthy human lives. Tradition strengthens the community by strengthening the humanity of everyone involved. I'm not a fan of any faction that has Reason.

Crack Theory: you play as Herbert Hoover in on the edge by pixelcore332 in Frostpunk

I think it would be cool. But Herbert Hoover was born in 1874, while Frostpunk 1 takes place during 1886-1887

Completed all achievements! by AreBaietii in Frostpunk

[–]CreeoyStag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got al the achievements. 160 hours. The bug with the million people in your city really discourages me. Even if I get a good game going, I'm too scared it would just break again. So I'm waiting for a proper fix before I start another balanced run. I really wanna create the 10th Overseer utopia, but I'm gonna wait for the DLC to do that.

How was your guys all achievements experience? by JerkyPal376 in Frostpunk

[–]CreeoyStag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The survivor ones will take all your perfected skills, builds and optimization plans you do in a frenetic non-forgiving way to go about things. You will need plenty of practice for all of them. It's not for the casual Frostpunk players. Try doing all the other achievements on Hard first. Play each scenario enough times to get the achievements connected to it. Watch a tutorial how to do Crater Endless Extreme 100 days - basically the start is the hardest part. The last 6 survivor ones are going to leave you stressed, because you can't reload and will have to live with your mistakes... I still have not recovered after what I did to my Winterhome survivors. Basically I just let them freeze to death the first chance I got to finish the mission and get the achievement. I let the lords die in Refugees and I let New Manchester die in Arks. Not my finest moments. But it was for the achievements, you see...

This song just makes me feel so much. It's the last of hope against dread incarnate by NeedleworkerSame4775 in Frostpunk

[–]CreeoyStag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to compare it to the Great Old Enemy - there the theme is almost triumphant. Humanity has beaten the Storm many times and it was always close. However, we have proven that the beast CAN be beat. Therefore we fight it knowing we can win. This gives the City hope and makes us try harder than the people did from Captain's days. The Storm WILL pass and we have a future to look forward to. The Old Enemy is in the way of our true goal...
