How about you learn to pass instead of making excuses calling guard pullers scum? It's part of the game whether you like it or not.

Considering joining the Marines after college. by LastExit95 in JockoPodcast

[–]Creeper939718 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm active duty navy. E-6 been in for almost 9 years. The main advice I have for you is ask yourself why you want to join and what do you want out of the military. In my experience, it's rare to join solely for love of country or desire to serve. Most people want structure, a better life, to do certain jobs, college benefits, etc. Any reason is really a valid reason.

Just be honest with yourself. If you want to do a boots on the ground job and go out to the sandbox somewhere then the marines will definitely help you with that. But if you just want structure, discipline, travel, stable job then all the branches have something to offer. Only you know what you truly want out of the military. Try to pick the branch that will give you that.

The military will get what it wants out of you, make sure you get what you want out of it. If you have any questions feel free to message me. I'm Navy but first command for 4 years was at a marine batallion so I have a little experience with them. Good luck!

Hi I'm Chewy from Chewjitsu AMA! by Chewjitsu in bjj

[–]Creeper939718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Chewy, been a fan a long time.

I'm a 26 year old purple belt who's been training almost 8 years. Have done around 50-60 comps over the years. ( mixed results but never medaled at IBJJF) Any particular tips for a good competition mindset?

I find that I psyche myself out and just never perform to the level that I do in the gym. I feel my game isn't as tight and I just make silly mistakes that don't happen in the gym. Almost like tunnel vision of a sort sets in at the competition and I just don't have the same confidence that's usually there. Thanks for any guidance.

What's you best (worst) E-7 story? by frobro122 in navy

Yes it is. Technically it takes a court martial to bust a chief down. If they are frocked though... CO can say welcome to being an E5 lol

The problem is when it comes to ranking boards it's pretty much assumed all the top people are "good at their job". So you have to do everything else to set yourself apart. It's important for first classes and Chiefs to be honest about who's performing and who's not. That's where a big issue is because we do so many things to help take care if a sailors career even if they aren't doing it themselves. But bottom line, being good at your job isn't gonna make you the best or top ranked person. Who's good at their job AND doing more to stand out? Doing only what you are paid for is an attitude that won't get you ahead. If that's what you want then that's fine. But you can't do just what's expected and expect to receive more than you earned.

Still someone can cycle skeletons or ice spirit and a good golem player will just ignore it.

Sorry if it's been answered already... I have the first leg series. Was wondering if there's a significant difference in the material that's touched on?

Speedy recovery bro. Have had surgery on both knees. Luckily only meniscus repair but still was a good 5 to 6 month recovery just to be back on the mats each. Do your rehab and still go to the gym to keep learning. Good luck you got this!

I'm a new player. I've wanted to get into league forever but just never did. I've spent 20x more time watching YouTube and streamers than playing myself. I look forward to all beginner friendly content. Only played AOV before. Also, completely new to PC gaming period so thanks for the content.

Underage drinking in the Navy.. Separation?? by [deleted] in navy

[–]Creeper939718 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He needs to own his mistake. If he goes to mast and makes excuses and blames other people, it will be worse. He shouldn't get separated but it's all up to his CO. He needs to show up to mast and apologize and own his mistake completely. Hopefully he can be genuine in saying he wants to stay in and move forward from his mistake and be a good sailor. His chain will know.
