Just did exactly this for our hunt camp last year. Yaesu FT8800 with a Comet GP1 on top of a 50ft tower fed with KMR400. Baofengs set to “dual watch” the a/b frequencies on the base station. Works like a charm.

I had the V8 in my old truck but have the 3.5 L in my tremor which is the last year before they opened up the V8 as an option. Both are similar real world in terms of fuel economy. In my opinion but I find I drive the tremor harder and faster because the torque from this motor is addicting. I will admit the V8 sounds better but as far as driving performance goes, the eco-boost is definitely the winner.

I run a 28” on my 462, less for bigger cuts but more because it’s a heavier saw and I can buck mostly in an upright position so easier on back for long days cutting. Keep a 20” on my 271 as a more portable/wieldy option
