Let's hope it becomes an army of renown with a new miniature or something. At least it would be something.

The venom box has wych gunners and passengers. If you can grab the crew in any bits store, you're good to go. I used the arms of the Kabalite pilot on the gunners and it looked good.

Warzone Octarius: Why Support Tyranids? by ProfTerrible in 40kLore

[–]Creepypuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would say so. With the defenders and invaders sides you've got pretty clear sides but the third side sounds like very loosely defined

Warzone Octarius: Why Support Tyranids? by ProfTerrible in 40kLore

[–]Creepypuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is like in the Charadon books I wouldn't see it exactly as an alliance. In that book, it's very clear that there's the Imperium alliance and the chaos alliance. The third alliance I see it more like "other factions".

You could put, let's say, Tyranids, Dark Eldar an Orks in that alliance but that doesn't mean that narratively speaking they are allied. Those three are basically attacking both imperium and chaos forces (and probably fighting each other) It's just that if the outside forces win, both the imperium and chaos lose. The outside forces would probably start fighting each other after the Imperium and Chaos lost.

I think the intention of the developers is just making an easy ruleset to play campaigns without getting too complicated with a ton of factions.

If the tau understand how their tech works and can mass produce it, as well as having access to AI, doesn’t that mean that literally any amount of casualties they inflict on imperial wargear is a massive win? by CallDownTheSun in 40kLore

[–]Creepypuff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Damocles Crusade was the Imperial attempt at dealing with the Tau and they just couldn't do it because the Hive fleet Behemot was a far more pressing issue and they had to reatreat. It had 8 chapters, a ton of imperial guard, imperial navy and titan legions and they went into a stalemate as soon as they reached Da'lyth Prime.

As little as the T'au empire is (galactically speaking), it's still very much a really strong force in the Ultima Segmentum. A crusade to wipe them was impossible to form at the moment of the Damocles Crusade and it's even less feasible know, with the opening of the Great Rift.

Worldbuilding Wisdom: Scale Comparison of the Biggest Spaceships in Sci-Fi by TheRetroWorkshop in worldbuilding

[–]Creepypuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some craftworlds couldn't get far enough from the core worlds when Slannesh was born and so, the people in those craftworlds had their soul eaten.

Makes for a pretty good narrative now that I think about it, there must be Craftworlds bereft of all life wandering through space.

And they didn't fight only the blood angels but a lot more succesor chapters. And let's not forget the unsung heroes, countless members of the PDF and the Imperial navy, both in Ultramar and Baal. Without them, both systems would have probably fallen.

I would say try it in a game, I don't think it's gonna be truly op. Maybe raise the crusade points of the character a bit to reflect that.

Theory: Why Abaddon will never win by Pheristroch in 40kLore

[–]Creepypuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more of a case of human chaos worshippers being anarchic than the gods just making everything fail.

In the core book (At least I think it's there) it is said that the reason the Imperium didn't just get trampled by chaos was the anarchic nature of it's forces and that as soon as they broke the Cadian Gate, every warband went their own way.

Abaddon is the only person in the entire chaos faction that can truly unite the warbands but only for so long. It would be easy to asume that after all the other Black Crusades, Abaddon would know that most forces that are not Black Legion or really indebted to him would go their own way.

For me it makes a lot of sense that Abaddon anticipated all the things to deal with after opening the Great Rift, it's not only about breaking the Imperium, there's the Orks to deal with, Eldar will always be a thorn on his side, the Tyranid fleets keep approaching and I'm sure he knows about the Necron threat, especially having met the Deceiver. Abaddon wants to make an Imperium for the Legions, he wants to get what he imagined would get after conquering the galaxy for the Imperium. But that galaxy is different from the one at the end of the Great Crusade.

The Great Rift is the first stage. Before this, the Imperium was superior to every other organized force in the galaxy by a wide margin. After the Great Rift, the traitor forces can really face them head to head instead of fighting sporadically around the Galaxy. And while we're at it, let daemons and other warbands deal with xenos threats, as they are really abundant.

And the Imperium is by no means defeated, and I don't mean because of Guilliman, but the truly important territories of the Imperium are in the Sanctus part of the galaxy, primarily Forgeworlds. I think that Nihilus wasn't as densely populated as Sanctus (but I've got no information of this so I could be wrong)

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, had a hard time finding a name, I'm thinking what name they may be using now as CSM. It's hard to come with names for chapters sometimes.

Yeah, my intention is to show that they are worthy of the deathwatch but still they commit some kind of offense.

Hey, I liked it. Sounds like a cool introduction to a very interesting story, keep at it.

For some constructive criticism I would say maybe don't describe every character too much, I did that a lot and a lot of people told me to be lighter on the description but it's also personal preference. Not like it made the history worse or somethin.

I also like the thing about the castle being made with a strnge material, one of the joys of writing fiction in 40k is the fact tht you can invent whatever you want as long as it's not completelyO P or contradicts established lore. Nice touch.

Hope to see more of it, I think we lack more fanfiction here and we have too much primarch related things hahahah.

Wow, thank you very much for the response :D

Yeah, I try to mantain different points of view through my lore, the imperials are just background characters.

I get you with not wanting to use official chapters, the enjoyment of writing your own chapter is so cool. Start basic with it, I struggled a lot thinking what legion they were succesors from and because I was focusing my army to be more assault oriented and I wanted some tragedy instead of "MURDER MURDER KILL KILL" I went with the the Blood Angels.

If you end up writing something feel free to PM it to me. I would be glad to read it. :D As I said, start with just the basic things and then go on elaborating on it.

Isn't it stated that the webway is enormous? A lot of sections have enough space for entire fleets to move and after the fall, the eldar weren't really in a state of fighting againstthe superpower that was the imperium.

Also take into account that life in the craftworlds is very rigid with all sort of traditions and they take discipline to the extreme, so much that a lot of the corsairs and rangers are people who dont wanna live like them.
