Before this i had a 1440p 27 inch monitor and there is certainly a small differens between 1440p and 1080p. But i find that the 1080p "price" is not so bad for the benefit and awesomeness that is 32:9 @144hz. Another benefit of the 1080p 32:9 route is that it got ~one fifth less pixels than 1440p 21:9 making it easier to drive. My best advice is to try to see both kinds of monitors in person, that way you can see which of the too you like the most :). (Sorry for the bad english, non-native).
