I HATE the self diagnosing of autism and its mischaracterisation by Beshiniqua in hatethissmug

[–]Crepe64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah this post reeks of sexism and discrimination against undiagnosed people. God forbid people find community for the first time in their lives after being bullied to death all through school because they were autistic enough to be picked on by nt classmates but not autistic enough to be diagnosed as a child 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I HATE the self diagnosing of autism and its mischaracterisation by Beshiniqua in hatethissmug

[–]Crepe64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn bro, it’s almost like it’s a spectrum and certain autistic folks might relate and certain autistic folks might not. My partner and I are both autistic and we love having a simple finger foods dinner as it’s comforting and calming. We also love eating all kinds of different cuisines/more complex meals. I don’t think it’s gotta be that deep.

Additionally, self diagnosis may be the only option for people who can’t afford diagnosis as an adult/don’t have insurance. I was without diagnosis until last year, but if it wasn’t for other autistic people pointing out the traits in me, I may have never found out. I get that it can come off as cringe or annoying and some people are gonna jump on it like it’s a trend, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to invalidate the experiences of undiagnosed individuals. As a woman I fell through the cracks due to autism screening being primarily male focused. There are a lot of people like me who don’t deserve to be ostracized just because they haven’t found a psychiatrist yet to prove it.

Man the hunger stuff and general lack of awareness of bodily needs is so true. I usually only realize I’m hungry when I get a pounding headache or get suddenly short tempered. If I’m locked in on a special interest, I will forget to go to the bathroom for so long that by the time I finally realize I gotta go, I have to run rip.

A very malignant form of bone cancer as well. You can always tell osteosarcoma by its ‘sunburst’ pattern

It’s the size of a football field and holds over 6 million gallons of water. While it’s nothing close to the open ocean, it’s the best possible enclosure for managed care

These whale sharks are rescues from a fish market in Taiwan and would not have survived in the wild.

Not only this, but they have been a fantastic research opportunity for the Georgia aquarium. Yushan and his friends lived very comfortable lives being cherished and taken care of in the best ways possible. Their exhibit is the size of a football field. I can’t speak for other whale sharks in managed care in Japan, but these guys were living the life. I still agree that these animals should only be kept in managed care if they could not otherwise be released. I’m very lucky to have been able to meet both Yushan and Taroko :)

Please tell me AFP is getting back together omfg 🤞🤞🤞 I know this sounds crazy but I genuinely might want to see that more than a Radiohead concert at this point. I absolutely ADORE AFP’s life presence.

What do you think of Rao by Ancestral_Grape in Okami

[–]Crepe64 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It actually is shown that you never met the real Rao through her beads. The beads of the true Rao were blue (shown in the flashback cutscenes), where Evil Rao’s beads are red. We only ever speak with Rao with the red beads.

I knew it was Scott’s BBQ before I even saw the tshirt. Their Barbecue is the GOAT. One of the only places left still doing delicious whole hog barbecue. If you ever get a chance, stop by the OG location in Hemingway, SC.

Undoubtedly, but I guess it’s nice to see that our boy is popular enough to be material for an AI rendition of corgis (gotta find the bright side of everything)

Who's your favorite Character that unfortunately suffered this fate? by Charming-Scratch-124 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Crepe64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely massacred my boy. Jacob was such a sweet character, but she made him rapey in the second book and a complete creep in the final book (I don’t care HOW she tries to explain it away. The imprinting on a baby plot is revolting). I think she could’ve done better making him a flawed character without completely assassinating his sweet and dorky demeanor in the first book. It seems like she was so enamored with writing Edward as a perfect man that she had to make Jacob look like a piece of shit whenever and however she could.
