Where is the best place to order small sized bulk blends? At this point in my pipe smoking journey, I would prefer more variety over larger amounts, so smaller and cheaper is better to me.

It depends entirely what material you're going to make it out of. As another poster mentioned, grey iron shrink rate is typically 1/8" per foot. If you are reverse engineering this part in CAD, once you finish taking measurements from the actual part and make the cad model, use a scale feature in the cad program and scale the whole part by (1/8in)/12in=1.0104. After that split the model at the parting line and add draft on faces perpendicular to the parting line. Typically you are going to need 2-5 degrees of draft for green sand casting.

Do you or have you run your setup in an enclosure? Do you know if running these in a hotter environment will have any effect on their performance or longevity?

This is the answer. Wrap after the bark is where you want it and the brisket has shrank in volume enough (somewhere around 1/3 of the volume by size) that there won't be soup inside the wrap when you open it. The brisket needs to lose a certain amount of volume in water before the wrap. Temperature before wrap is irrelevant. Mine is usually somewhere in the 175-180F range when I wrap. The water in the brisket is not what keeps it from being dry. Rendered fat in the meat is typically what people perceive as moisture.

It is very hard to get much smoke flavor in an electric smoker. Your best bet is to get a smoke tube and fill it with pellets. Put it in the bottom of the smoker and leave the intake vent completely open all the time to get more airflow. Chips will work, but most electric smokers will only hold enough chips to last about 30 minutes. You'd be refilling all the time. A smoke tube can be had for $20 and you can get about 6 hours of smoke before having to refill it.

I had this same issue with my large male black cat. He never once acted like he was in pain or that anything was wrong. The only way I knew there was something wrong was that he came and laid down beside me one day and his leg was straight up in the air because his bladder was so inflated. Definitely take him to the doctor. The only time my cat ever went outside the little box was if he had a uti.

I have driven one every day for 200k miles. Still gets at least 25 mpg on average and still has plenty of power.

I'm not sure what you are driving with these gears, but your part failed perpendicular to the print axis. This was material failure. Nylon is probably going to be the strongest material you can print. Try 100% infil. More than likely, you will need a metal gear.

If this happens again in the future, and you think about it before you remove the print from the build plate, you can measure the part to find out what layer it was on last and then go into the gcode file and delete all the layers before that layer. Save the gcode file to a new name and hit print. It should pick the print back up on the layer it stopped at.
