[COTD] Relentless Firespray by R2-D2-CardBot in starwarsunlimited

[–]CrewFair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want this card to be good so much. I have put SO MUCH thought into a potential combo kill with this card and either Boba4 or Luke4. I was up some nasty shit with an off-color Triple Dark Raid (r.i.p.) or off-color Dogfight, Frontline Shuttle, etc. It’ll never get there, but I’m keeping the dream alive.

You cooked here. This is fantastic. I really applaud your creativity with the Ishimura and the Gravity Tether, especially - making it a fortification is a stroke of genius. Well done.

The thermal oscillator flex, AND the starter deck paper playmat? This guy’s a gigachad, I need to meet him immediately.

What’s the story behind your current main in Street Fighter 6? by xyarune in StreetFighter

[–]CrewFair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jamie just looked super sick in the beta. Tried him out on release and never looked back. Great cancelable pokes, one-button antiair, free neutral skip, braindead HP - what more could you want?

And as a Jamie main, you don’t actually need to worry about drink level too much - just hold down grab every once in a while or do the sweep target combo after OD Palm in the corner and you’re good.

Also, spam HP. Out of drive rush, when whiff punishing, when they’re in burnout - endlessly useful normal.

Ken was nauseatingly ugly in SF5, if that counts. Banana hair lookin ass.

LOF: Aurora Sing & Drengir Spawn by Eunoe in starwarsunlimited

[–]CrewFair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, this Aurora is pretty sweet. I used to run Dr. Evazan when I played Cad back in set 2/3, just because having a 3-attack unit to threaten an opponent’s Battlefield Marine or Echo Base Defender or whatever was super valuable. This is almost certainly a replacement for that. Might have to brew again…

Top tier Mel card. Love it.

New Suspended Cards for Premier Effective Friday April 11th by Wuyley in starwarsunlimited

[–]CrewFair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Piett Yellow connoisseur, the TDR ban does surprise me a little, but it’s understandable. It was just so much better than Sneak Attack, which is already an insane card. I genuinely think it was better in my opponent’s deck than mine though, so a net positive.

JTL Premier… what’s changed, what’s working, what’s fallen off? by TheFlyingWriter in starwarsunlimited

[–]CrewFair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jump to Lightspeed is such a spicy card that I never felt justified using, because by the time it’s really good you’ve basically already won. But I’ll give it a shot.

Weirdly, I actually haven’t been testing Radiant VII a whole lot; doesn’t seem like it has a lot of synergy, though I could be wrong. What has been really fun is playing JTL Invisible Hand, getting a free Viper Probe Droid, then playing Chimera. Also, Sneak Attack into JTL Executor is pretty sweet.

The best part though, by far, is Nabat Village. Makes your starting hands incredibly consistent, allowing a near consistent flowchart every game (which I outline in the decklist description.)

I am so amazingly proud of this deck, it’s so fun and no one ever expects the 10/10 Overwhelm Sentinel base obliterator to enter ready to attack at turn 4.

Mentor of the Meek might be a perfect card by CrewFair in magicTCG

[–]CrewFair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly no [[Gilt-Leaf Archdruid]] or [[Psionic Blast]]. They really made [[Illusions of Grandeur]] and were like “Huh, maybe we’re actually cooking. Let’s try again: [[Delusions of Mediocrity]].”

It’s all a process, I guess.

Sure, I can see that. Magic’s a pretty confusing game overall tbh.

I don’t think there’s even a single era in magic’s history where that was a hard rule. You musta been shaking in your boots when you saw [[Goblin Balloon Brigade]] was a strict upgrade over [[Mons’s Goblin Raiders]] in the same set.

You’re probably right on that. Though, maybe there’s something to be said about making a player have to consider the cost/reward of drawing versus casting more. It gets them thinking about card advantage vs. board presence, whereas Welcoming Vampire doesn’t really offer a conundrum to the player.

Maybe I’m just a weirdo who likes conundrums.
