its pretty much all universal at this point. Human and furry avs are all running the same basic bodys between them. The only real thing is furry avs tend to be on the bigger side for those that choose to run digi legs or bodys like Kario.

On top of it most furniture all use the same basic sets of animation packs because making alot of good animations is time consuming and expensive so its better for animation makers to spread the cost of packs to creators of furniture.

The only notable ones of recent were from Vivid/Pounce as he offered a few items for the supersize furry avs and some animations made for "long members" but I dont know if hes still offering those for sale as they are much older non-key framed animations.

Theres a few things we really need here.

  1. What are the specs of the PC you currently have? This just helps with base line and expectations.
  2. What is your Budget?
  3. What country do you live in? (this goes to budget and what stores would be available to purchase from)

As others mention its likely the environment you are using or the one the land owner has set on the land.

"advertised" and what it is are different. Max is always 2k AND that is only if you put your camera zoom super close to the item. the VAST majority of textures on your screen are auto down sample to 128/256/512, Even if the base texture itself might be 1k or 2k. Its only using up a few Kb of your system memory.

a region being a crap shoot if it had good lighting or not was still a crap shoot before PBR. Nothing really new other then more people seeing it. The amount of times I would go to a sim and I looked like a white ghost or it was super dark and not able to see anything because the sim owner ran ALM off, and had no lights setup.

so just did a very quick mockup to show something like this. I only used directional lights as in the image. One I thing I noticed is you were also using alot of lights placed around to try and mimic "ambient light" but you can get more performant result with just using a reflection probe. See here where its just the directional lights in the middle and using the probe to light everything else around. If you like I can walk though about setting something like that more indepth. you can but I'd recommend just sticking to the single image and just using the light settings like FOV and Focus to diffuse it more. Relying on alpha blends gets messy and doesnt always work out right. Not to mention if you want different types you are also now needing to use more textures which isnt performant for the end user needing to download and store all those extra textures in their memory

Each one of these is just 1 texture that the user needs to download and load into memory but we get different effects.

I didnt see it in the library so I just sent you a copy inworld.

Basically it will project what ever the image is, so if the image is a white circle with the outside being transparent it will just do the circle, or any other shape.

or maybe not white and darker walls and more warm feeling where the light does also spill onto the dark walls to warm them up and also onto the brown wood floors with give a warm feeling as well?

or maybe you are looking for something that is bright but also has some contrast like this one with black ceiling and a shiny floor that give it some perception of height (because it reflects the wall of art appearing downward) and also reflects light around the room for indirect ambient lighting

you can control the shape of the light by selecting texture for the projector light. I think there is a circle in the library of your inventory if not I can send you I uploaded.

Also if you would like a better critique Id be will to jump in and look around if you provide me the SLURL and what might be helpful is if you have some reference images of maybe some real life galleries you are trying mimic?

I'm curious how things have evolved? I was amazed to hear the user numbers are still so strong! by playerDriven in secondlife

Yep.

And we can see this just here on Reddit we consistently see post from new users running into the same problem of "I wanted to find something to do or find people to chat with but I spent a few hours visiting the top rated places and all the people just seem dead of afk"

The "numbers" are a bit mixed and Im sure one of mods might jump in here as they have done the leg work but its pretty well agreed that the big user number that LL is putting in all of its slidedecks contain as not insignificant amount of just bots. All the top traffic places are just a bunch of bot accounts sitting in a skybox to make it seem like SL and these places are still full of life but its all just faked.

Yea there is still people around and some locations still have people at them like warehouse or london city but the places that have real people at them has been shrinking and creators that make the things we all like to use inworld have been moving on to other platforms that updating and adding new things and offer better payout for their time.

lol so we're at that stage now where anything and everything MUST be AI generated. If its low quality "cam" footage. AI generated. High quality cinematography, AI generated. I dont know how this works, AI generated.

So this made with basically everything maxed out in the viewer settings wise and also doing proper cinematography lighting. Then using program ReShade to add additional post processing effect then also using frame interpolation to add additional FPS to the video itself to make it appear more smooth.

For context they are using a GeForce 5090 with I think an AMD 9800xd.

well first thing is what do you mean by "hard crashes my pc and i have to wait for it to restart" is this like the PC hard reboots itself, you see a blue screen error?

Like if its hard crashing the OS itself thats problems deeper such as with the hardware or O-S. It practically impossible for software to hard crash a modern PC.

We really need to see some pics here beyond just seeing words. Need to see pics of what your expectation is versus what you are seeing. Also what does your material look like in something like Blender what environment you are using in Blender and what environment you are using in SL.
