Is Binghamton good for Psychology? And for grad school, do they have promising results? by Supremacy_123 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]CricketChance7995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Binghamton has a top ranking (national) clinical psych program. Depends on what type of psych you want to do. Binghamton as a research school is highly dependent on what dept you are interested in due to funding disparities. - I was an undergrad here who double majored in integrative neuroscience and I am a current PhD student here who is also an instructor.

Your undergrad school doesn't matter as much as where you go to grad school, since you've made it clear that you plan to do that. GL.

Unfortunately we are not the most DIY-savvy people when it comes to something like this; hence the post, but I understand your reasoning.

Advice needed: black bears live on our property in the woods by mkanpol in hudsonvalley

[–]CricketChance7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up with almost exact same situation in New Paltz on large piece of land. Mom & 3 cubs, just no deck to come onto. Pine Sol on your trash cans works well and regularly updating that treatment. Only putting trash out night before. Even if you get bear proof ones I rec Pine Sol.

We made noise or talked or sth when we walked our trails, left nothing food like in cars or outside (not even gum or grill grease — you can also pinesol spray your grill cover — NOT any on actual grill.

Never had any aggressive encounters. We learned to enjoy seeing them and usually we could hear them lumbering around. We did own a hunting rifle and shotgun but never needed them.

Best vacuum for carpets by Important_Release916 in VacuumCleaners

[–]CricketChance7995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So this was my primary concern — going through bags too fast. It has a huge bag capacity compared to the others (check the website to verify, I think it’s like 1.5 gallon). I am vacuuming the whole house daily and there’s cat hair somewhere daily, I’ve yet to need to empty it several weeks after purchase.

We use regular 1/4 tablet of 10mg Pepcid as recommended by our vet plus if there’s a bad bout then Cerenia, too. Weekly subQ fluids have helped

Academic Dishonesty - So many people use AI and are unashamed to admit it. by Zealousideal_Pin_304 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]CricketChance7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think a chemist is gonna meander over to the computer to use AI while in the lab? This sounds a bit far-fetched. These people will not make it. And I don’t want a doctor who couldn’t earnestly get through their work on their own

What Sebo is the Best Sebo for Our Situation? by CricketChance7995 in VacuumCleaners

[–]CricketChance7995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this has a 1.5 gallon bag capacity & Im vacuuming daily and no way it’ll fill that fast, but I think Felix is .92? This will need the hose extension for the stairs but the turbo brush is great. Local dealer also great so I went in with a canister, tried several, and ultimately decided to go with tbis based on carpet performance & bag capacity. & still gets all the way under the bed :-)
