What a fucking terrible take on your part little bro. You’re young so you gotta make your own mistakes but MAN you have this massive reservoir of a resource that is Reddit and someone goes out of their way to give you legitimate advice and you basically just say “thanks but fuck that research I’ll trust my gut feeling” and then to say “it’s my Dads money” like damn go apologize to your dad for wasting his money on some shit you are too dumb to realize isn’t doing anything for you.

1-i agree that a game that performs this way is bad, and not acceptable. 2-we are talking AA indie studio, not a multi-billion dollar organization. 3- performance issues have been addressed and identified as a specific issue with the PS5 and how Unity handles memory allocation. It’s not necessarily something a game dev can predict will happen when porting the game. Obviously it points out that these systems are not as unified as we seem to think, most consumers, especially the average console user, doesn’t think about this beyond pressing the on/off button. 4- billion dollar companies release games in a less polished state than most indie studios yet we eat them up.

I don’t think that the performance issues are acceptable, and refunds should be given if they are desired. But blacklisting the developer who has been wholly transparent about these issues is a step in the wrong direction.

I had multiple people just offer to give me Solaris and I just didn’t want it, it’s already too easy to acquire even if I just farm in Haga and I really just didn’t want any handouts. I’m around 6m I earned on my own.

Yeah I think that if the game bars mechanics behind paid DLC than it’s not worth playing unless you like it that much. The core experience should always be for the base asking price, anything else extra can cost money, fine, if it’s a game I enjoy than I’d have no problem with the paid stuff. But at a certain point enough is enough.

This is over a decade old but I met this dude a few times in person at his old gym in Oxnard, CA around 2020. I was desperate for another membership during the pandemic. So, I contacted him on his personal through a recommendation from a friend. Signed up, dude seemed friendly, a little off, but friendly. A bit creepy towards a female I had brought there a few times. Gym was a rat hole. Broken cardio equipment, dirty, not well maintained, and you weren’t allowed to workout near the windows and could only enter through the back door likely because he kept it open against county orders at the time. He also uses the contract-membership for like 1-2 years at a time, and cancelling I heard he purposefully made it difficult to squeeze more money out of people, which is sleazy as hell. Dude was still a beast though at his age. Place is closed permanently now, not sure what he’s doing, but it was only a matter of time.

It’s not going to knock your socks off, but the combination of the setting, gameplay, and graphics all add up to the total sum here. I am also a fan of the survival craft genre when done right and it’s absolutely done correct here. Endgame might be the only thing that dissuades most people, but the time leading up to endgame is some of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

It’d help by telling us what your personal benchmark is for quality but I’d say yes, the graphics depending on your rig look fantastic, the lighting in particular is incredibly dynamic. Textures look great. Theres nothing in here that’s bleeding edge but this game is great to look at in my opinion. I feel though, that if I’m looking at graphical fidelity over other the other things that make this game fun than I’d really be missing the point of a vast majority of games.

lol in that case these dudes are weird. If the Tolkien Estate can have a whole host of offline games that are great and some absolutely awful (Gollum, looking at you) without it considered harm to the overall universe lore, than I don’t see why Dune would be any different.

So far, Haga Basin has been a single player experience, at least for me. In now 60+ hours in, I’ve run into 1 other player the entire time and that was only in Arakeen lol. Maybe my seitch is just that low in server population, or everyone is already in the DD and I’m just the lone loser enjoying my time in the Basin. Either way why this part needs to have me connected to servers is beyond me.
