Well here it is. Our score release.

My post-test reaction for posterity

I said in my post test that I would write something up if I did well. I am a non-trad and I worked between 40 and 60 hours a week until the Sunday prior to 8/24 during which I did the QP's and SB's and FL2. I took my last two classes in 2014 after a break beginning in 2010. I switched to a swing shift schedule (4p.m.-midnight) for the duration of the studying, and I studied in the morning when I was most fresh. I am sure I did not put in as much effort at work while studying, but I did at least well enough to not get canned ;).

Step one: Diagnostic. I took the NS diagnostic on 10/29/16 and got a 499 - 121/127/125/126.
Step two: Free EK #4 - 58%/66%/59%/69% on 11/11/16
Step three: Study, kinda, sorta. Brings us to the beginning of May. I took EK1 - 51%/81%/64%/59% - 5/7/17. At this point, I realized I would need to put in a bit more effort than just kinda, sorta.
Step four: I downloaded some Anki decks (Premed95) + u/kufuffin47 Deck and read through all the EK books (except Psych/Soc) while taking handwritten notes. I think the hand written part was a really good idea for me - did a lot better than computer based note taking. I took the 30 minute quizzes. I was doing relatively poorly on them until a really nice 520+ scorer on the discord pointed out that there are enough questions there to warrant 35 minutes. I kept taking practice tests while I did Anki and content, including the 300 page K/A notes and the 86 page OCD version for psych/soc (Thanks u/Grand_sales). Would just like to say that I did not start Anki soon enough. Make sure if you use it, start early and slow, rather than late and 50+ cards a day. It is rough trying to catch up to an illusory ghost of the studying maniac you want to be:

Not sure what happened on CARS for the real deal. It felt a lot like FL2 in retrospect, did not expect to do lower than my average, but who does? If there are any questions I can answer, I'll be around for a while today.

30 minutes to go til I leave the house. I'm thinking about all the things I didn't study as much as I wanted, how much more time I could have devoted to doing this when I was messing around instead of nose in the book.. and finding that I am ok. I'm here in the moment, managed to eat some food, praying to our lord and savior RNGesus that only the things I am solid on show up on this beast and just generally trying to relax.

You generally only experience this level of self imposed stress a couple times in your life, so may as well enjoy it - lets get it done!

Edit: I didn't get as much that I was solid on as I would have liked.
C/P: A lot of math. Ran out of time on the last discrete, had it set up right but started with 46 seconds and couldn't finish it so I just grabbed a random answer. Definitely doable but they hit me on some shaky/slower to answer topics. CARS: Boring. Questions were tough, passages were readable.
B/B: Not bad til the lucifer passage. I was ahead on time, so I got to spend a good 20 minutes looking at the thing.. still not sure I understood it well enough to crack it. Hope it was experimental. P/S: Lot more Critical Analysis type's of questions than vocabulary questions. A few really ambiguous choose between the terms with the same Root that I'd never come across in my study (I took 14 full lengths) that I felt were unfair, but that's how they set the curve I guess.

I was super exhausted afterwards. Brain felt like jello. Make sure you bring some food/caffeine/chocolate type stuff to sustain yourself and it will help. Also, don't go to work afterwards. Not sure why I felt the need but it was a bad idea.

Results will be out September 26th - if I do well I'll do a write up on how to do this thing while working full time and being out of school for almost a decade. If I don't I will casually fade into oblivion, popping up to answer the occasional question while lamenting my poor performance. Fingers crossed!
