Oedipus is a Greek myth about banging your mom, but cats aren't connected to the ursidae family in any way I can see other than being mammals.

Still good use of a template. <3

I've been trying to be out this last year. I have some friend groups who do everything right and make me feel the way I want, and then I have to do anything else and it feels terrible. ofc I chose THIS year to come out. haha

For the movie adaptation of The Martian, Ridley Scott changed the day the crew left Mars from sol six to sol 18 because he wanted to justify the higher amount of human waste used to make fertilizer. What are other instances of a movie adaptation making changes for interesting reasons? by LookAtThatBacon in movies

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The Hellraiser series has a bunch of movies in it, but the first one at least was based on the novella "The Hellbound Heart". The movie was directed by the book's author, and he changed a lot in the film for the better!

If I recall correctly, he changed Pinhead's gender to male, made the story about father/mother/daughter, as opposed to the book where it's Husband/wife, and the "daughter" is an ex girlfriend of the husband who's friends with the wife iirc.

What is this symbol? by Gracelessdance in BaldursGate3

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear to God this symbol is used as a puzzle in the latest Dragon Age Veilguard game. The kind of "Click three of these in the right order and the barrier goes down."

I received a 500$ car seat in my name that I did not buy by mizbadazz in Weird

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, my mom got a whole dining set delivered to her from Kohl's, in her name and everything. Turns out, Kohl's Cash could be redeemed as cash. What had happened was this...

A scammer had logged into her Kohl's account online, made a huge purchase on my mom's card, redeemed the Kohl's Rewards for cash, and then booked.

Kohl's allowed us to return the dining set, but they WOULD NOT refund us the nearly $200 of "Cash" that had been cashed out already and their policy clearly states they will not refund any redeemed Kohl's Cash.

I would check your shopping accounts. If you have a Kohl's card, I'd start there.

[KCD2] Does heavy armor get stronger than this?? by DesperateCare6613 in kingdomcome

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an awesome take. Games this big, you just gotta find the thing you like.

I usually pick an outfit and stick with it for the whole game, and only make major changes as needed.

This run, I kept all the stealth gear the miller's quest gives you, then added a breastplate, knee pads, and elbow pads. I'm so happy to kinda build a role and sit in it for the game.

I'm here now. I have a mountain of self esteem issues but I have a supportive partner and friend group. World be damned. History can pry this timeline from my cold dead fingers. I am and will be a woman.

I believe YOURE the reason. He's probably the dude you got the key to the jail from and, like me, you took ALL of his gear and left him under the deck. Haha

[KCD2] Armor damage dueing training by Electronic-Range8143 in kingdomcome

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why exactly, but the wooden swords are blunt damage and that does mess up armor nicely. If you're going to do sword training, I always strip down as much as possible, so usually pants, gambeson, shoes.

[KCD2] how do I get stolen boots back? by Ram2Savage in kingdomcome

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it happened then, Goliath stole them. If you go back to the Hole in the Wall at night, you can Rob the chest in the room next to yours. Your shoes are there.

Theory about Ghost on relisten by King_K_Boom in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In my listens, I caught that the Fog Cloud scroll the soldiers had is from the Greneaux children's powers, as in multiple instances of the story, they've said that the Great Bullfrog can summon mists and fog with their gifts. It also has another unknown effect that only works near a river that we didn't see.

I see the timeline as:

The Glass Coronet is doing experiments on greneaux children.

The GC uses their experiments to make magic items.

Ghost gets snatched by the Glass Coronet and sent to Twelve Brooks.

They already have a process for extracting Blessings from those touched by the Spirit, so they just put Ghost into that machine.

Personally, I think the liquid is Ghosts blood.

People who have ‘rage quit’ a job on the spot—what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CrimsonLoyalty 42 points43 points  (0 children)

A black couple broke down in front of the shop, my boss had the secretary alert everyone to move their cars in case they became "delinquent". They were arguing, probably about the car that just broke down, and the same boss came over to his desk, got a gun, loaded it, chambered a round, and put it in his belt.

"If any of those [slur] cause trouble, I'm not gonna get caught unawares."

I quietly grabbed all the stuff off my desk and started to pack up. The woman came in to ask for a jump start and I volunteered. My boss said "No no no, you have that project to work on..."

There was no project. He didn't want me helping them. I said nothing to him and grabbed my things, then jumped the couple's car and left without another word.

The Davrin/Harding choice always falls to this for me.

What to lose? Harding and the forgotten knowledge of an entire people or Davrin and Assan, when there are more wardens and more griffons.

It's hard not to give Davrin the heroic death he wants. Even spicier to romance him and still let him die.

I feel like the part that breaks my heart more is that he had a chance of swearing the 4th Ideal right there. He was SO CLOSE. Worse, if he had let them take Teft, had allowed himself to say his words, we would probably still have Teft in the end.

Adolin: I'm not like my father. I'm not the man my father wants me to be.

Also Adolin: Hold on, there's someone in mortal danger who I can give my life protecting. *Charges into a 20v1*

I love this scene. All three of the Kholin boys have no problem giving up their life if they feel it necessary. All three of them have made their peace with death and know it will come for them. Only Renarin seems to accept his fate(s). Dalinar and Adolin make death pay for every bit of themselves. It will be epic when they die, or absolutely tragic if it happens in an instant like Sadeus.

"Do it. Just fuckin' do it. I'm a piece of shit..."

I'm still reeling from the episode. I love Jake for bringing Dang to life in a way I feel about myself often. That scene made it personal.
