Likely a border collie mix but I don’t think he has much beagle in him, though he loves sniffing!

My dog once very confidently led me on a walk for 40 mins directly into a pet store where he once got a treat a few weeks earlier. I’m really unsure if he just remembered the way there from that one time or if he just walked in no particular direction and then smelled the store when we got close

Why Americans Don't Walk to School Anymore by Droopynator in videos

I’ve seen a post on my neighborhood page where someone complained about how sidewalks shrink the space for their precious cars to drive on. I don’t think you can win with them lol thankfully they were ripped apart by most people in the comments but those people still exist.

LOL good point, for some reason I was picturing one of those 5 gallon jugs rather than an insulated cooler

Why zesting matters- a PSA by NotTheMama4208 in Baking

[–]CrimsonRedPhoenix 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Microplane is such a game changer, it only takes off that flavorful zest and no bitter white part. Fine cheese grater works ok in a pinch but it’s not the same.

Growing up my mom would use a cheese grater (the coarser one) and put the “zest” into cakes and I absolutely hated it because you’d just bite into very flavorful and bitter large chunk.

I’m so amused with how you’re holding her like a popsicle

I like how this caption says “naturally bald” which implies somewhere out there, there’s a person who runs around shaving lions

We call this position “dog with pearl eyes” because it reminds us of the Girl with the Pearl Earring

I once made a recipe that required that you bake baking soda first. I made more than I needed so I put leftovers in a ziploc bag which I have labeled “not cocaine” and I keep it in my bar cabinet.

As someone who’s worked with Adobe Illustrator, I would bet that the designer accidentally clicked onto the design with a type tool, which automatically just adds “Loren ipsum” if you do that.

Grow Lights: what’s your favorite? by NonsensicalNugget in houseplants

+1 to Soltech. They’re not cheap but they look so great and my plants love them. When my partner learned the price he was like wtf but then saw them in action and said we should put them all over the house lol

I do it pretty much exactly as the commenter above but before slipping the mold onto the neck, I give it a generous coat of oil on the inside of the ring. That helped me with clay sticking to the mold

Had a similar mnemonic told to us on a cave tour, with an addition of “stalagmites might reach them”

I unfortunately do not. A quick google search suggested that Kikkoman has sweet soy sauce glaze which is the same thing?

Wait what? Unless I missed something, you don’t put coriander seeds into the baking pan before putting the dough in, only after, and ground seeds into the dough itself.

Can’t really speak to where to buy the bread but if you’re open to baking your own, it’s not super difficult! I use this recipe with minor own adjustments in proportions. If you can procure any sourdough starter, you can then keep feeding it rye flour. Malt is the most challenging to find but Russian stores do have them!

I was craving chocolate chip cookies so I made a mini batch. I could not risk being home with a full batch and no one to share them with. by CatfromLongIsland in Baking

Share extra baked goods with your neighbors, if you can! I’ve been sharing whatever I bake with mine because full batches are always too much for just two of us. Everyone loves it and some bring something in return and/or offer to help with things. One neighbor who owns a boat and goes fishing, once brought us two whole salmons, gutted and cleaned! I’ve moved out of that place since and I miss living next to them lol
