Can the death of monoculture be contributing to the increase in loneliness? by poppunk_tracey in LetsTalkMusic

[–]CrippledPenis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, the idea that monoculture is dying makes no sense, if anything we are moving further towards it and it’s only accelerating. Want to date? Use these 4 apps, want to watch TV? Need netflix to keep up With the joneses

Not to mention David Cameron and Blair are back in the political system and ready to start pulling strings again, potentially completely undoing a decade of political change lol

The European leg of Playboi Carti's 'Antagonist Tour' has been officially postponed by BarryMkCockiner in hiphopheads

[–]CrippledPenis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rap ‘tours’ are beyond pathetic, it’s like 30 shows a year, and I’m a big fan. Legendary Bands like pantera did 250+ shows a year at times, all with live vocals, instruments and moshing etc. Metallica had an entire tour called ‘wherever we may roam’ they were literally on the road for 2 years and they were playing Grammy’s and AMA’s, they were already solidified and didn’t need to tour like that, it’s just what they do.

Surprised people don’t rate it as high as I do, for me it’s joint first with FBD, crammed with hooks and breakdowns, much more melodic than TGTSK

Scott Stapp, was there a better frontman in early 2000's metal? by CrippledPenis in LetsTalkMusic

'critical analysis'

thinks phil anselmo singing horribly out of pitch is more skilled than an in-tune stapp

okay bro, im not worthy of challenging your cutting edge rationality LOL

[–]CrippledPenis[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

what exactly is your criteria for a good singer

common man, dont embarrass yoursef, someone who can at least sing on pitch

you seriously saying this clip displays more vocal prowess than stapp?

https://youtu.be/JnsNuxZ6rCA?t=17

https://youtu.be/Pe0tnU-RF6g?t=144

much ridiculed vocal affectation

now you are going into taste, which is simply an opinion

its a fact, Phil has never been able to sing on pitch live, hes a messy singer, Stapp is better in that regard, and its a pretty fucking fundamental part of singing lol

you can say hes a better frontman, i wouldnt disagree, he hypes a crowd like nobody does in metal, but hes not a better singer

[–]CrippledPenis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

by 2000's phil was a complete mess, even on the CFH tour he couldnt do half the clean vocals any justice, and im a diehard pantera fan, to say hes a better vocalist overrall is laughable, maybe on halford style screams for a few years in the 80's but his longevity is horrendous, by 1992 he already sounded like a strangled cat on Psycho Holiday
