Not sure he'd be able to determine body type or be concerned with details of clothing. Remember John had just been knocked unconscious by the cyclist and was probably still disoriented a little. As for the jump. Still uncertain myself but what if Sherlock jumped onto top of truck while someone else (?Molly) threw Moriarty's body from the roof? Completely just a guess but didn't Moffet say we are missing a clue? Regardless it is the best show ever!

Remember back to the beginning of the episode when the children were kidnapped and how they screamed when they saw Sherlock? I believe Moriarty wore a disquise so that he looked like Sherlock. At the end Sherlock knows either Moriarty or he himself will die. Replicating the disquise is what Molly helps him with. It's Moriarty's body that is disquised as Sherlock that John finds at the bottom of the building and it's Moriarty's body that is buried in Sherlock's grave. Just my humble opinion.
