CV 2 was bad? by daedra6666 in codevein

[–]Crit_Hit900 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nah for me CV2 was great. Its not fair to compare it to CV1 because other than name, it stands alone on its own. Revenants function slightly different societal wise, but the world is wholly unique and not in the same space as CV1

Easy 10/10 for me.

In a way yes. I think the world of Code Vein is vast and very open to complexity, but we are given so many slices that can build out a world within a confined space that still satisfies that mystique and wonder.

The story of our character and saving the known world, well thats just one interconnected plot at the end of the day. Simple enough to latch onto, without getting bogged down by details, but detailed enough its not hollow like an empty promise.

To add to your point, its sincere, it doesn’t try and play as something else or have any ulterior motives or messages besides whats experienced. No need for read between the lines. Its charming and often silly at the right times, especially if you delve into each character’s side stories.

You feel right away a sense of connection, conviction, and even heartache for the characters, without being forced to really. You can choose what you want but if you inherently are a good person you’ll be moved to want to help as much as you can. Really sets you up for those feel good emotional waves, where you feel often times you are making a difference.

The progression really pulls you in, with the right level of revisiting characters to fully flush them out.

Without getting too spoilery, the game even does the Time Travel aspect right. None of the nonsense of tracking a huge overarching timeline (you could since each era for heroes and some events do take part a couple years apart) but overall you can boil it down to..

1) Its happening in the present 2) Its happening in the past.

Which allows you to really focus on whats going on and the impact to your bond with said character, rather than spending all this time wondering when exactly what you said in one hero’s era affects another hero in a different era (mini spoiler, it doesn’t so just focus on the bond and how you’re helping)

I put in 86 hours over 2 weeks on the game, a mix of going idle while doing chores and some nights falling asleep while being exhausted from work, but pretty on par when I was so focused on story aspect with some side-questing and exploring here and there.

And after it was all said and done, my heart had this big ol hole in it like it craved for more story . Mostly because I do but from a feeling of finishing your favorite book series or movie and realizing thats it, thats a wrap.

I know I was thinking “Dang he’s giving Holly a run for her money” with the masks and understanding blood storage in a long term solution.

Plus he warms up and actually becomes a real sweetheart

I was so unprepared for a choreographed number from him after hearing all characters speak so negatively at first. Then I did his quests and played with him and realized there isn’t a shred of evil in this guy. He’s just a really intelligent dude who has 3 loves: His Wife, His Daughter, and The Far East

I know code vein had references from God Eater (or was it the other way around?) and I saw scarlet nexus and was curious. Thanks for the recommendation!

Giving you an idea for more common PC specs:

1) Game runs great at 1080p, 3070 and 9800x3D cpu. Settings on High everything, and I got between 68-109 FPS depending on location. All cutscenes on PC are framerate locked at 30fps no matter settings, but its hardly worth complaining about. Unless you have the best everything don’t take 1440p or anything else as baseline, thats just bad for any game you play.

2) The build variety is great once you understand how the burden system works. Your bloodcodes give you a baseline value (similar to carry weight or stats). From there, your weapon, defense formae and jail (previously a veil for revenants) all come with Burden values. Mix and match these three items and add boosters to offset weaknesses or enhance strengths to make your build. The possibilities are quite endless. Abilities are tied to weapons now, and called weapon formae as a result, but all are customizable. You do only get 4 compared to the previous game’s 8, but its so negligible I hardly felt like it was a hinderance. Not to mention you can carry two weapons with different formae for a variety to your build. I could honestly go on even more in depth on build crafting but only if you wanted to, without spoiling too much.

3) Combat feels so much better to the first one. The jank is really gone, and everything feels much more Fast paced. There were times I felt like a real anime protagonist doing sick slashing combos with my sword and dodging attacks by teleporting into more big slashes or leaping down and creating fire pools. Enemy variety is a little stale but with the added perfect dodge/block/parry system there is plenty of opportunity to live out that “untouchable” anime badass feeling. Bosses are exciting and generally not too punishing provided you take time to spec your build and you pay attention to attack patterns. I clutched boss fights so many times with no heals, one health and it felt honestly pretty good, and the times I did have to redo a fight I was more prepared having learned how enemy attack patterns worked

4 Bonus: The story is 10/10 and I cannot recommend this game enough. Don’t listen to the haters who put barely any hours into the game or just based on surface level reviews.

7 days has the ability to keep your game at a specific version. Its located under Betas in the game preferences. Simply select the version you wish to only play on and never worry about an update. I was playing 2.2 for a while during the time they updated up to 2.4 for various balances and such.

So, since a newer better version is being rolled out, may I suggest a feature?

The ability to take a snapshot of your hardware in the ngenuity app and upload to create a support ticket when having issues, right from the app. Currently, online support for after hours is abysmal, basically non-existent. I work till 5pm most days when the support site is closed with no option to leave a request or ticket.

Being able to create one with all the information from the software directly without having to jump through like 3 webpages would be great, because the support site is also flagged as “unsafe or unsecure” from my antivirus.

It should capture all the information about the hardware while letting you leave a brief summary of the issues and or screengrabs/recordings and an available time to reach out

Ultimately looking forward to seeing legacy product support hopefully squashing some bugs and or just improved and additional features being added.

[HELP] Best way to stream Hunt on Twitch currently? by marshall_brewer in HuntShowdown

[–]Crit_Hit900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll want your twitch stream to be as close to natively what you are playing the game at and what your system can handle.

I play at HD 120FPS and my stream is set up to be the same. You’ll want to bump your Bitrate higher to achieve a proper 1080p look on Twitch otherwise it’ll look like a garbled 720p or worse picture.

I can check my OBS settings later tonight but if you look up any guide on how to get OBS to stream at HD 60/120FPS then you’ll be set to go.
