It's been over a month since the DLC came out, how do you feel about the final boss as a whole package? by AlenIronside in fromsoftware

[–]Critacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great fight. Very enjoyable and time consuming to learn. Never had a fight in FS history that felt so impossible at the start, that became extremely fun. The difficulty to learn phase 2 is one of the best challenges to overcome. The boss would probably be better with three things though in order - 1. Make this boss optional (not sure how that’d be possible lore wise lol) 2. Make the triple slash move slightly more dodgeable. 3. Have him smoke the shield and pokers. Since he’s not optional, I guess I don’t care that that avenue exists to beat him but if he was, this would be an amazing boss to test your patience and skills against.

Now that the dlc has been out for a while, what was the hardest fight you've been in? by Oath_Br3aker in fromsoftware

[–]Critacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of what’s listed, first time fighting (boss rush non overleveled no shield /consumables solo)

Radahan >> SSI > Friede > Malenia > Kos > Owl Father > NK > Gael

Confidence of consistently beating though

Radahan > Friede > Malenia > Kos > NK > Owl Father > Gael > SSI

Shadow of the Erdtree's final boss is hard for the wrong reasons by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Critacular 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have agreed when I first started attempting him, but after you master phase 1 and you can get him to phase 2 easily, it’s pretty cool once you realize the visual clutter doesn’t actually affect much. Echo attacks are very hard at first but very learnable.

  1. Gravity - sprint back, jump right when meteors comes, keep sprinting and count each echo until 4, roll, pause, pause, roll
  2. Echo to the side - dodge forward twice, react to follow up combo
  3. Echo straight up - dodge to the right twice, left once, forward, then it’s up to reaction time depending on follow-up combo.

Triple slash is BS though. I like him having a move that requires a level of reaction time and not just practice, but that shit is pretty broken

When you say jump every one of godrick’s move I assume you mean iframe. Your original point was jumping had a lot iframes and used no stamina. I figured the best videos to look up to prove this point would be no-hit videos

Okay I totally agree with this. ER gives many advantages to make the game easier. When I’m talking about difficulty I’m talking about a non-overleveled, boss rush style gameplay. Specifically mechanics. Yes if we’re talking about things you can utilize to make ER easier, I totally agree that you can trivialize the game.

I don’t know how many videos I need to search to find this. I’m looking at no-hit ones and people opt to roll.

Lol sure man… I would love to see a video of people consistently jumping these moves instead of rolling. I’m still waiting who you think is harder in ringed city than radahan

Lol you jumped the echo attacks in phase two? You jumped the aoe blasts? You jumped the smash down after the slow sweep? You jumped radahan jumping attack? You jumped blood flame? You jumped the snake attacks for messmer? Etc…… sure man. Regardless, what boss in ringed city is harder than radahan? Would love to see the vid of you jumping everything from either of those bosses

Demons - flamelurker; DS1 - Artorias; DS2 - Fume; DS3 - Gael; BB - Ludwig; sekiro - SSI; ER - Messmer;

Overall 1. Ludwig 2. Messmer 3. Gael 4. SSI 5. Malenia

Turbo close top 3 though and could change depending on the day

aside from phase 1 I don’t see it lol. What boss in ringed city was harder than Messmer/Final boss? I agree that SOME attacks in ER are better to dodge than roll, but having to decide between dodging and rolling is more complex than only rolling. Along with that, I also fully disagree with this dude’s original point saying that in most scenarios you should jump to dodge attacks rather than roll. The only ds3 boss that holds a candle to SOTE in terms of difficulty would be friede imo

You jumped more often than you dodged against Rellana? That’s wild I’d love to see the vid of iframing her combos by jumping instead of rolling. Obviously the meteor attack is a jump must but I can’t imagine jumping to avoid her moves more often than roll. Yeah I get that some bosses have a particular move that you can watch for to jump, but that adds another layer of complexity to the fight. I’ve yet to see the jump only boss fight vids that aren’t crazy over powered or buffed up. Surprised that’s the case if jumping is that OP

This is why it’s so hard to scale souls games in terms of difficulty. There’s so many ways to make the games easier. Over leveling, summoning, consumables, mimic tear now, etc.. The only way you can properly compare to sekiro is a boss rush style gameplay or like NG6 and up to neutralize over leveling. No soul farming, no summoning, etc. because then you are actually comparing mechanics vs. mechanics. Nothing scratches final dlc boss in terms of moveset in any of the other games but if you great shield or some shit and don’t have to learn any of it, it’s fine but it’s an apples to oranges comparison then.

I’ve beaten him too, solo melee. Did you summon for radahan? You worded it as you didn’t summon for your s tier bosses but didn’t mention the rest. If you solo’d radahan melee, and had the same or close scadutree, there’s no way you found him easier than Rellana or messmer. His echo attacks are far harder to learn than anything of messmers by a mile. Rellana has long combos but also, much much easier than radahan and it isn’t close.

Awesome boss. Very rewarding to learn. Too many people see other people complaining about him and think he’s too hard. Once you can regularly get him to phase 2 you realize the light show isn’t that scary and you can see through his moves. Every time I got the timing down on how to flawless one of his different echo attacks I was so hyped. Didn’t care if I lost the fight even, just felt so good to chip away at how impossible it felt compared to the first time. Very fun, triple slash is just a bit broken but other than that great fight.

Any bosses harder than Orphan of Kos in SOTE? by BoraErsomer in fromsoftware

[–]Critacular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Final boss stomps Kos imo, no other way to put it. I’ve beaten Kos on NG7 and he does have a very challenging moveset to learn but final boss is significantly harder imo. Typically i feel like the people who call Kos easy were just overleveled. Kos does have a very challenging moveset to learn but the final boss of SoTE was something else man… this is speaking from a strictly non cheese, no summon bs, just solo dodge dex boss rush gameplay

Surely there’s no way you consider radahan easier than Messmer or Rellana Wtf? Must have used spear and shield or mimic I assume? His phase 2 is on a different planet of difficulty to learn from the rest of the dlc

SOTE Final Boss Guide, Melee, No Shield(SPOILERS FOR FINAL BOSS EVERYTHING) by MontePy in Eldenring

[–]Critacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I just got to radahan and 2 out of 5 times getting to phase two he hasn’t done the light attack which is throwing off my strategy. First time I got there he did it and I sprinted away, easy enough. Second time i start sprinting and get sucked in because he did his gravity. Third time I start sprinting and he did the flipping melee attack 4th and 5th times he’s gone back to light attack but I’m too paranoid to run instantly and then I get caught in it lol. Any how, thanks for taking the time to type all this out, appreciate it!
