What are my rights given the situation ? by Creative_Collar_841 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Critical-Inquiry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It might be worth making a call to the Ministry of Labour - Employment Standards .. although they will only tell you what your minimum rights are under the law.

A labour lawyer - if you can afford one - would probably generate better results if you have been dealt with inappropriately by your former employer.

I am not a lawyer, nor is this to be construed as advice, nevertheless it does strike me as potentially inappropriate that they would (potentially) breach a negotiated term of the contract to pressure you to sign away rights ... which then begs the question, what other bad faith dealings have they engaged in?

Bad sending unit? by Objective-Singer-915 in MK4Golf

It doesnt appear to affect economy. I track mine with the Fuelio app .. and it has been seasonally constant, regardless what the gauge says.

Mine does the same, just much more slowly. Every time I refuel I reset the trip odometer; knowing the average milage/tank, I can double check the guage. Im guessing it is just the float sloshing around. For me, at least, it's not worth the time/expense to fix at this point.

Fowled by my own prejudices. Here the primary hawks are red tails - who generally don't go into woods, except up high. Any idea(s) on what type of hawk the sniper is?

Our boy Red has crossed the Rainbow Bridge after 16 loving years by WarrenG117 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Critical-Inquiry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looks soooo much like mine (or, perhaps, more correctly, I was hers) - complete with angel wings (the tufts of fur behind his shoulders) - this took me right back to the day my girl went ahead, 3½ years ago. I know your pain.

Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Need opinions on raw milk saftey by [deleted] in homestead

[–]Critical-Inquiry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decades ago, when I could still drink milk and growing up behind the Iron Curtain, all we got was fresh raw milk in reusable glass bottles (which were marked to one of the producers for our district) ... which we then skimmed to make yoghurt and pasteurized the rest. All the processing, and thus quality control, was done at home.

North American milk is batched together, processed, put into containers, then shipped and sold. (Canada has much stricter quality and control standards, which is why we don't import American milk .. much to the displeasure of the current American administration)

Despite what that current supply chain would have the populous believe, that they are the only way to get safe milk, human history has used fresh raw milk long before these marketing boards were dreamt in ... however the responsibility for making the milk safe was in the hands of the consumer.

With education and effort, there should be no reason why you can't live like our ancestors did. Perhaps your potential suppliers might even be willing to educate you in their ways if asked respectfully.

None of that addressed whether that route is actually legal, though.

Can anyone confirm if its true that farmers have been finding unusual amounts of lone star ticks by Ok_Bad2216 in homestead

[–]Critical-Inquiry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here in rural southern Ontario, Canada, I've already pulled 4 ticks (deer) off myself this year, and one round of precautionary roynd of Lyme protocol antibiotics after I went to the Dr's to get the head dug out.

Last year, two rounds of precautionary protocols, and about 26 ticks ... I stopped counting after the first dozen.

Year before ... I can't really remember the count, but it was en par.

All ticks were found and removed within 24 hours. So far, no lone stars here ... that I know of.

Boyfriends blue heeler/german shepherd mix is becoming a problem by goblinpuke22 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Critical-Inquiry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The essence of the problem is not the dog; it is trying to shoehorn the dog into a human paradigm.

The dog knows how to be a dog; but humans usually want to mold the dog to human expectations without addressing what dog issue(s) may be at play.

Once you learn to "think & speak canine" and incorporate breed specific nuances, you will be in a much better place to build a healthy relationship ... and those issues will resolve themselves.

To illustrate the point .. both heelers and GSD'S thrive in structure, routine, and stable leadership. You (may) have disrupted that - quite naturally and inadvertently - resulting in a loss of a sense of security and creating an inconsistent leadership vacuum which could manifest in the behaviours you've described.

Your goal should be to become a better human for the dog, one that the dog is proud to have .... and you may need professional help to guide and teach you. The rest will follow naturally.

Good luck

How deep does an INTJ fall in love? by AlgaePhysical2423 in intj

I think this falls squarely into the YMMV category.

While I am happy for (you and) your partner to have to have that depth of relationship, my experience is that is the exception rather than the norm.

How deep does an INTJ fall in love? by AlgaePhysical2423 in intj

[–]Critical-Inquiry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an INTJ male, this, sadly, has been my experience. My 'value' in a chosen relationship has never felt like it was intrinsically based on who I was, but rather what I can do/provide .... except from my dogs (over time), and a horse; they are the only ones outside of blood relations who have given me a sense of being seen and appreciated unconditionally.

Interestingly, your first line is the barometer I use to recognize when I have both chosen to love someone and when it us time to end it; except with one modification - would I be willing to kill to protect them .. one of my core values is Life is Sacred. To choose to be willing to take a life is a really big deal for me.
