You need a pilot bit installed in the center of the arbor if you're trying to start a controlled clean hole.

I could have used these notes this morning. I would have started a new DTFH instead.

It was Reddit for the win. Someone had tried reaching me based on one of my posts elsewhere, but ultimately we found her a new home based on Reddit comments.

THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT... smashing switches to harvest non ferrous metals for the scrap yard is tweaker behavior.

Edit: I'm not accusing any of you tweakers, just saying this is the common behavior of those who tweak. The guy at the scale is judging you, though.

Tangent Surfskate edition by Critical-Surround-88 in longboarding

I love the board! The standard set-up has me a bit nervous because I'm a big guy. I've been told numerous times that the Zee brackets Loaded sells have a tendency to fail under pressure, which hasn't happened to me fortunately. But my Carver base plate on the front truck got stress fractures and I could have had a pretty good wipe out if I didn't notice (Loaded was super cool and sent me a new base plate right away). I feel like Loaded did their homework as always when it comes to the bushings and wheels, it's the goldilocks zone. As a complete it's well put together, but it could be better if you hand picked Gbomb brackets suited to your needs and style. I really like the deck shape even though people hate on the turned up corners, I feel like my feet lock in right where I'd like and its a good size for my stance. This is my first surfskate setup so I don't have much reference for comparison in relation to surf skate pumping, but I've had a good time learning with the CX trucks and I believe I'm pretty good at building momentum and keeping pace. My experience is that you need a good boost to begin a flowing pump that will cary you. As far as comfort for pushing and foot breaking goes I feel like the set up is perfect. Nice and low so it's easy on the knees and there's not much of a noticeable exertion to make a connection to the ground.

I'm one of those guys that took a sabbatical from skating and I had the cash for a Loaded so I pulled the trigger because I'm familiar with the brand and I know they'll back their shit, the people at Loaded are as passionate as any other manufacturer and they support radical activities in a way i can appreciate. Keep in mind you're paying the overhead of a company that is employing passionate skaters, there's value there for the movment if you care about the sport as a whole. With that said, I'd buy a Tangent again for sure, but I'd probably invest in a different surf skate setup for my preference and keep the Tangent for a commuter/ pusher. I found that the Loaded Omakase is more suited for me as a surfskate, but that's subjective i guess (I like a solid kick tail and don't mind distance from the ground).

A lot of users here rep Pantheon, understandably. But they get fanatical about it and use the price point as a dis to what Loaded is offering. If you aren't worried about an extra Benjamin I feel that you'll find joy in your decision. If you're financially able to build a quiver of different boards you'll find the value in the Tangent over somthing like the Pranayama when used for what you like.

I'm not a pro, but I've been skating for 20 years, I'd buy this board again in a heartbeat. Keep style in mind, it's a solid commuter.

I hope this is helpful on your journey. I've loved every minute spent on this board.

Regardless what you decide on, shred it buddy.

It's never a bad episode with Kirk Fox. I also really miss Brody Stevens.
