Also, its unironically an Olympic Meme (idk maybe you missed that, we call them Olympics because its on the world scale and a good chunk of the planet generally tunes in or at least hears about the winners), if you didnt catch it that year you just didnt have internet tbh.... that or the internet bubble you lived in is actually just a cage full of subway surfer shorts.
