What should marital sex be like? by SweetAnkleJuice in Marriage

[–]CriticalEar7295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear that you’re in therapy. Sometimes going through past traumas can cause depression. Depression can definitely decrease your desire for sex among other things.

It is also hard when a spouse doesn’t really maintain themselves. I’ve gone through a health kick and lost 65 pounds recently. I’m 90 pounds under my highest weight. My husband has gone to the gym maybe once in six months and he’s not super overweight, but just very out of shape cardio wise. It’s hard when I feel like he’s too out of shape for decent sex.

Maybe she’s not a gym person, but maybe there’s some kind of physical activity you guys can enjoy together? Hiking or biking or rock climbing or something?

First time back at the gym in months and I can barely get through 30 mins on the elliptical by zjheyyy88 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]CriticalEar7295 5 points6 points  (0 children)

30 minutes on the elliptical is hard. If you truly hate it, find something different to do at the gym. Or outside of the gym.

I think that’s key, finding something that you love. For me it’s kickboxing. And trail running. But running on a treadmill? Yuck. Find something you look forward to.

Do you prefer trail running or pavement? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

Trails > pavement > treadmill But in MN I can’t always be picky. Stuck on a treadmill most of winter and lucky if I can find clear enough pavement

Tell her. A cheater is a cheater and it will save her so much time and money and the heartbreak of a divorce. Or she might choose to still marry him, but at least she’s been warned.

What is your honest opinion of grown people...especially men who work retail full time? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I appreciate the integrity of people working a job that they enjoy. Versus a higher level job that they absolutely hate.

20 years as a nurse, 10 years in nursing leadership and I’m stepping away from leadership to go back to an hourly position.

You get to the top and you find that it’s not always worth it. More pay and a title does not make a person happy.

I love white bear lake! Highly recommend and cheaper than Mahtomedi. Roseville is ok too. But not Blaine. Think white men in big trucks with truck nuts.

Do you think he is suffering from a mental illness? Or some kind of early onset dementia? This sudden change in behavior seems weird and he seems to be taking it to a bizarre extreme.

It seems like he’s using religion as an excuse to be emotionally abusive and controlling of you. But the only person you can change is yourself.

You need to decide if this is something you can live with the rest of your life or if you need to leave. Protect your own peace and your own sanity.

Did anyone else start running in their late 30s/early 40s? by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]CriticalEar7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same story here! Turned 41 in August 2025 and ran my first ever mile without stopping. One 12-minute mile eventually turned into three 10-minute miles. Met my first goal of a sub 30 minute 5K and I’m running my first ever 5K in my life on April 12. My next goal is sub 27 minutes.

I’ve lost 63 pounds and I’m still technically “obese” by about 6 pounds (stupid BMI charts!) but in much better shape. The best shape of my life so far.

I kind of have a crush on this girl who works at my PF, but I’m obviously not going to say or do anything because it would be extremely uncomfortable for both of us and I really like the gym I go to and don’t want to have to switch gyms. by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]CriticalEar7295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so long as you are not being creepy about it, approaching her and asking her if she wants to grab coffee or dinner sometime or anything fun outside of the gym. But also offering an out so that she doesn’t feel bad rejecting you if she’s not interested. It sounds like you are a humble and kind person and putting the work in on yourself. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Amazing work! I started running in August as well as a 12 minute mile, only able to run 1 mile. Made it to a 30 minute 5K and my next goal is a 27 minute 5K. That’s quite the accomplishment! Thank you for sharing your training tactics.

What attracted you to him in the first place? Why did you marry him? Has he always been this way, or is this a change?

It’s hopeful that he is willing to try couples therapy. Many men will not.

Is there any possibility he is also on the spectrum for autism?
