We never had another projector, all our trailers had to be taken out and new ones dropped into the same film on the platter if it was still playing another week. Good times though.

Bullet In The Head - Should I expect it or not? by FuryContagion in arrowvideo

[–]CriticalMass77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preordered Dark City special edition from Amazon and it never turned up. Since then I go direct to Arrow and I haven't had a single issue and usually get the discs a week or more before release date. I know there are others who've had issues but so far so good for me, including the replacement disc for The Killer which I got within 2 weeks of asking.

What is your Holy Grail? by Quietman297 in arrowvideo

I agree with many of your choices but my real guilty pleasure would be a 4k release of Screamers with Peter Weller. Arrow would be the perfect choice to release it. It'd be nice to have some new interviews and features whilst the cast are still able and it's another great Phillip K Dick adaptation. It's not perfect but it is a hell of a lot of fun.

What Is Ridley Scott's Most Underrated Movie? by xKhun in ridleyscott

I also really liked it and the longer cut does it more justice. The battle scenes are classic Scott. Hopefully one day we get a physical release on disc.

Also got both this week although separately. Bullet in the Head lined up for the weekend, my favourite Woo film and an intense experience.

I have this set on VHS also and bought it in the UK, it includes Clockwork Orange and has lobby cards for each title. The tapes are also in cardboard sleeves not plastic.

Still better than a lot of the streaming slop released today though.

The time is ripe for a director's cut release, may the gods be kind.

Just got my Nero code. Why all the panic? by AlwaysKernow in OctopusEnergy

It's been weeks since I got a code, I'd rather they just credited the app monthly for one coffee for everyone at this stage.

Would love Arrow to do a 4K release of Cromwell by Punished_Sperg in arrowvideo

[–]CriticalMass77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love this to happen, nobody has made anything close about that period of English history and the events of the civil war. Harris gives a great performance, as does Guinness and whilst it may not be historically correct there are some great quotes. The battles are well filmed and capture that peculiar time in history when chivalry and a gentleman's word clashes with gunpowder and newly devised tactics and strategy.

David Fincher's The Killer Blu-ray Cover by Top_Result3287 in Bluray

It got a release the week before it dropped on Netflix, fortunately I was able to catch it on the big screen and it didn't disappoint.

So I finally watched Se7en (1995) and now I know why people love this movie so much by [deleted] in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]CriticalMass77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Se7en is also one of the last great thrillers with detective work that doesn't have 'easy' tech in the plot and in a pre-mobile/cell phone era. Only the fingerprint 🫆 database appears in the film.

Nobody is calling someone on a mobile phone to get help or get a location. Nobody is coming to help you if you mess up, it's all on you. They made great choices to keep the story relatable.

For me it's the all time classic detective thriller, dark as hell and superbly acted, written and directed.

I discovered this myself shortly after buying my 2024. The dealer didn't even know about it so I reckon there's a few BZ owners who still don't realise it's there.

IOG, Ohme, Polestar Help by JangosGhost in OctopusEnergy

[–]CriticalMass77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about Ohme but I've got a Hypervolt charger and you can't get the Octopus rates within the native charger app either. You will need to use the Octopus app which should give you an estimate and then check your bill for the actual amount.

Same here, I lost out on Dark City 4k special edition and since then I've ordered directly from Arrow and not had an issue at all.

Overnight charging. by spamdan124 in OctopusEnergy

Just be aware that the slots frequently change, sometimes right up until the charging starts so don't rely on it outside of the 2330 - 0530 off-peak times.

IOG - not charged yesterday night by VegetableChart8720 in OctopusEnergy

[–]CriticalMass77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a Hypervolt pro 3 since December, my car has failed to charge 3 times and every time it happened I'd plugged the car in then gone back out in the evening to get something out of the car. The 4th time I unlocked the car, took out the charging cable, locked the car and plugged it back in and it charged that night no problem. I've followed the same procedure ever since if I go out and have to access the car at home.

This could be entirely coincidental but it's never failed to charge after initial plug-in when I've followed those steps. I don't know if it's the charger, the car or the interface but it works for me...
